Unlike most 'new' ideas I see for bikes, I quite like this one. A few of these around might just help re-educate some drivers about bike speeds. The perception that bikes go at about 5mph is widespread and needs correcting. (Even a slow old bloke like me goes between 10 and 20 mph most of the time!).

Probably be expensive though.

Its just a blur unless close up, could be self defeating unles of course you like your motorists close up and personal like.

It's quite big.

I like this idea and may consider putting in some money to back it. But when trying to ask a question you need to log into facetube/twitbonce or something like that, which do not have. So I can't ask the fundamental questions about their business plan.

http://www.velocitylight.com/ - this might help. If you want I could cut and paste any stuff that you might need off the FB page and PM it to you.

While the light may be visible from a fair distance, how close does the driver have to get to A) be able to read it and B) recognise its function?
At the moment, I think drivers wouldn't pay any more attention to this rear light than any other.

A better idea was this jacket: http://mykle.com/msl/?p=10

Kind of hard to tell from a video. The light moves out of the focal point and it looks a blur. It's similar to what I see in my videos with numberplates.
I can easily read them twice as far away when i'm there than what I can see in the video.

I like the idea, but think that the light is simultaneously too big and too small. Too big - it'll look ugly and out of place on the bike. Too small - drivers won't be able to read it until they are too close!
