I’d just like to shout out a massive respect for all those who scored Shang high and won leagues without Poggi and Jonas.
The spread of credits really did pay off.
In future I’ll be trying that tactic out.
Sometimes ballsy moves just work.

Wowsers!
The Alpecin 1- 2 has kept me on the top step of the podium. I was doubting Jasper in the first week when he wasnt on the money, fair play, he made it thru the apls and came good at the. Carapaz did his usual of getting stronger as the tour goes on. He'd win every 5 week tour!
Championee!

2nd! Wow. Given that in the first week I was 2nd last, I@m surprised. Stannard my only less useful pick and all 9 riders finished, which is always a big bonus.

I lost assist points from Brandon M pulling out. Loads from Lipowitz withdrawing. Cost me the podium but that’s bike racing.

Well I had Lipo in my team too!! But as a good DS, I just got the rest of the team super motivated for the final push

That's pretty impressive with the no Pog no Jonas team. Congrats as well on your second step in the big one, the Replacements Contest!

On a serious note, this is the Triple Crown contest (all three GTs). It's open to anyone who's bunged the organiser a couple of quid (literally choose how much yourself). I think it would be fun if a few more of us were in this comp, as banter options are a little short, and given the work done to create and host the comps - a solo effort - it'd be a nice gesture to reward him. I think if you chuck something in the pot now your past entries will count, but don't quote me on that.

Don't forget Velogames Tour de Pologne, race starts tomorrow (3/8)!

Volta a Portugal is open for entries, the annual 100% guesswork game.
Unless you know much about Portugese cycling..

Think I'm going to swerve that one - it's not in the Stage Race Championship and there's a reason almost all the top teams avoid it.
Besides, you never know whose won it until much later

Tour de Pologne ends today with an ITT and the Velogames top three are separated by just 77 points
My sprint-heavy selection paid dividends early on in the race, but will the GC hold up - and who has a TT triumph in the bag?

CJCycling has the current 1 and 2 on GC, but neither are known for their TTs. Christen (5th) and Kelderman (13th) could both rise up the GC with their TT ability, as well as claiming stage results.
It's not clear where Kabanos go if Scaroni can't hold on (spoiler, it's going to be very hard for him) - a good stage result for Powless and Sobrero climbing up from 9th on GC probably the best hopes.
My own team pins its hopes on Fisher-Black rising from 6th and Romeo climbing from 10th - both capable on a TT bike, with a potential stage win for Hayter and maybe a decent result for Sheffield

I think my money is on CJCycling for the overall, once the end of race points are handed out

This PCS's prediction (based on past TT form) for the final GC

Well, that worked out about perfectly for me. Four riders in the top ten for the stage, Fisher-Black second to Kung
GC got me 2nd and third place after Brennan - Romeo coming good on the day. Very happy with that, I'm going to claim I researched that properly wrt to TT ability etc.... 😅

In the absence of anyone chapeauing me on my first GC overall of the season, I'll have to tip my own hat :becool:

More interesting than my magnificence, perhaps, is that with just the Vuelta and the Renewi Bincky-Bonky Enema Tour of Benelux to go there are only 366 points between the top tree in the stage race championship (though the table is a little weird - you can only view it per event, there were plenty more entries over the season in e.g. TdF).
