I'd be the one screaming in the back....

Pedant hat on;

"Vertigo is not a fear of heights – the fear of heights is acrophobia (from Greek “akros” meaning “highest”). Vertigo (“whirling” from Latin) is the sensation of moving when you are standing still – a kind of dizziness. It is a commonly recognized medical disorder."

Pedant hat off :whistle: ^_^

Yep but I get vertigo and only when up high , if I was on that ledge I would suffer from vertigo and would be on my hands and knees as I go dizzy and don't no where I am in relation to my surroundings .:wacko:

I have a terrible fear of heights but I feel slightly less scared if enclosed in a vehicle. Walking doesn't give you that comfort. Here's a Sony Handycam record by a very brave walker on El Camino del Rey in Spain....

I have just found out that my ex and stepdaughter are going to do that walk in a couple of months time!

I got very agitated and asked if they had actually seen that video. They replied that they had, but apparently the regional government have repaired the path and are turning it into a tourist attraction. It will be free to walk for the first few months ...

I still wouldn't fancy it! :laugh:

I'm tempted. I have a terrible fear of heights but it's something I have always wanted to overcome. In 1990 we went on a GR route in the Pyrenees. There's a goat track cut across a sheer face, Le Passage d'Orteig. I got about a hundred yards across it and froze with fear, clinging on to a rock. After a couple of minutes, I realised that I couldn't remain there for ever. Absolutely terrified, I went on. Getting to the end of it was an amazing thrill. Bravery had nothing to do with it. Nobody was going to come and rescue me so I had to do something for myself unless I wanted to spend the rest of my life clinging onto a rock in the middle of nowhere. Here it is. In those days there were no safety lines in quite a few sections.
