Wahoo and Strava - help!

Hi there. As you know I've recently got a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. I tested it out today with Strava. I did a route I had downloaded from Ride with GPS onto the Wahoo and also just started a route from scratch.

When I got home, the route I had downloaded didn't pull through to Strava but the route I started from scratch did.

I've set up the Wahoo app to sync with Strava and ridewithgps. I don't know why the preplanned downloaded route didn't pull through?

Can anyone help? Much appreciated

Your wahoo will upload the actual route you physically took to Strava and ride with GPS irrespective of any route on the device . On your head unit did you select the route from the menu page and were you able to see it as you rode ?

Yes I was able to see the route on the head unit and all the turns, etc

I recently did 2 rides in one day and my head unit uploaded both to Elmnt but Strava only took the first one. I went into second one on Elmnt and there is an option to upload manually and I chose Strava and up it went not sure if it's just a 'feature' 😂

Slightly confused ,did you do 2 rides or one ? If it just one there's 1 gpx file to upload

I did two rides. One was a ride using a route created from Ride with GPS and the other ride was one where I just pressed start ride on the head unit. The one using the route I created is the one that has not pulled through to Strava.

Did you start ride for both. You can follow a route without recording it. In this latter scenario nothing to upload.

Probably just a glitch with the wahoo interface it does happen from time to time you can upload it from the wahoo app to the relevant 3rd party app . I haven't had an issue with routes from rwgps unloading to strava

I must have started the ride if its taken me through all the turns?

Yes. This is the ride that didn't upload

I would have thought the unit would have been bleeping start ride constantly if you hadn't pressed start

That's interesting. I've never experienced this. I sometimes ride with my club. I have friends who will record their ride to the club meet point, then follow and record the club ride and after completing this record their ride home. So three rides consecutively. I think this is a bit weird but hey ho. Obviously multiple rides on the same day can be recorded as my friends upload these to Strava.

You may have experienced a simple glitch. It might upload automatically later. If not go to the Elemnt app >select the ride >top right corner select tgree vertical dots >choose "upload workout" That should do it.

Yes. This is the ride that didn't upload

So it recorded it , if you press on the route . Open the app with your wahoo turned on ,press on the title this will open the route ,touch the 3 dots top right corner select manual upload ,select 3rd party apps and it should load

I can't see 3 dots. Only share options. Nothing to say manual upload. Am I doing something wrong?
