The Anchor and Hope does very good food - last time I was there I had some tasty goat neck (apologies, Ben!).

We could do a mini-pub crawl in the Waterloo area as there are plenty of boozers, some of them quite decent (i.e the Kings Arms, Roupell St).

A cracking little boozer, usually followed by a ruby at the Thames Tandoori.

Hi

I might be up for this but can't really get a very long lunch break. Could pop over from St Paul's but would have to head back after about 30 mins. Alternative would be to book a half day and make an afternoon of it but I only have 1 half day left to book this year! Hmmm, will have a think about what I can sort out...

Who else is "staying out", e.g. drinking all afternoon?

Meeting someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. If you feel that you ‘have to’ meet, then for your own safety you must tell your parent or carer and take them with you – at least on the first visit – and meet in a public place in daytime.

Ok according to Doodle so far, Thursday 16th at 1pm is a go-er (Sorry Becs). Unless I hear any screams, I'll provisionally book a table tomorrow for that date for around 10 people.

The 16th is also my work do

But I could always take the day off and do both  (I should probably take the Friday off as well then )

So decide on a date and I'll try to be there.

Stage Door is just around the corner from the darkroom so I'll be there.

Ben - they do have veggie options can't remember what as haven't been in for a while, think I just had the veggie burger last time I was there.

If I'm not too busy that week I'll stay for the afternoon and get pi$$ed

I am still maintaining my new sober existence over the Xmas period but may well spend an extended lunch in there (boss permitting). I am probably the closest to the pub as our carpark is next to their door so I'll be able to pop back and forwards 'twixt desk and drink anyway.

So far all responders on Doodle are available for 1pm on the 16th so that's when it will be!

Sig, I'm not vegetarian anymore. It's a long list of other things that I can't eat and as meat isn't bad for me I eat it.

Lunch on the 16th sounds good to me Martin. I'll have to stay sober too.

Can you stick me down as a maybe? I have my work xmas party starting in Camden at 5.30 but I might be able to sweet talk the boss into letting me have the afternoon off if I ask really nicely

I'm not far away and go home via Waterloo so I'm a possible for this too. I just have a tentative booking for another Christmas party which I'll find out about soon.

Might have to think about a second evening thing too, for those unable to make it for the lunch at this rate  There was talk of a Friday night piss up in town during the Whitstable beer session. I'm still a possible for the afternoon mind...

Spoke to the landlady at lunchtime. She's going to reserve a table for us (it's the way the do things in the Stage Door) for the 16th. About 15 per table is their max but we're not close to that yet.

She's also going to send through their Xmas menu.
