well the day has arrived, I now have my brand new Rehatri Semi Recumbent Hand Bike and it's brill, a couple of things though, the chain is slack, anyone got a rule of thumb of what tension the chain should be?

https://www.cyclechat.net/forums/recumbents-trikes-and-hpvs.11/ or @mrandmrspoves might make a better guess. On DF bikes, I pull it tightish on biggest-biggest and then add a link, which sounds to me like it might still make sense.

Good thread title, Ted.

I'll never see you on the road, as I had to click Petsall to find where it is. And I know nothing about hand bikes (except watching Olympics and seeing now-departed WWI veterans in Richmond Park), but I salute a fellow road warrior, and hope you find the expertise to continue your journey (or indeed, maybe @mjr has already provided it).

innit
Without seeing it in the metal it's impossible to know what the issue is. The default advice at this early stage of ownership of a new bike is to 'take it back to the shop'... It's still covered by warranty innit.

And I know nothing about hand bikes

Standing at the top of the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland I was bowled over with admiration for a group of handbikers laughing their way to the summit. Really impressive stuff. I had driven up.
