I'm just fed up with it. Yes I know it's not so bad here in the south as it is further north.. I know no one can do anything about it either.

Went for a 45 today with a work colleage. She's a beginner but improving all the time and did great but it was so cold riding at that pace. I pushed up the short sharp climbs to warm up, but then had to wait around and cooled down. My body doesn't work well like that. I had a odlo thermal base layer on, a winter fleece and windshield, hat, buff, gloves the whole 9 yards and was still freezing!

It's April in a week. Lets hope BST doesn't turn into just BS.

Bring on the :sun:

So far

Bike use this year = low
Hiking boots this year = lots

It was about a billion degrees below zero in the Three Counties today and wind chill took it down to two billion below.

Good points?

Not a muscle on my face responded to any stimulation. And not a penny spent on Botox. How much better can thngs get?

The other option of course is to ride up the hill then go back down again and ride back up with her. I mean where are your manners!??

I'm thoroughly pee'd off with it too. I'd love to get some early spring morning rides in, with the sun streaming across the fields. All this wind and rain is just not as much fun as a good old bit of sunshine.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Only 3 of us on the Saturday morning ride yesterday (usually 12 -15). Very cold but the snow/rain stayed away, and the strong NE wind helped us to the coffee stop. Today, fine frozen drizzle, and the cars parked outside are glazed with a thick coating of black ice, given the amount of run off we experienced in the lanes yesterday, I'm staying home this morning. Potentially dangerous. Almost every weekend this year a weather problem, rain, ice, snow - it is getting very boring, and my target mileage is slipping away.

I poked my head out the door just after 6am and it was still a freezing wind, though not as strong. Afraid I went back to bed for a bit. I am the lightest I have been for several years and am really feeling the cold. It'll just be another longish dog walk shortly then I'm over at my Dads most of the day.

Must try harder next week.
