... is it usually that good?
I stumbled across a "Natural World" programme on BBC2 without much in the way of expectation. It turned out to be a sort of WG-Sebald-meets-the-Friday-Night-Ride-to-the-Coast exploration of landscape, history, migration and night, presented by the suitably melancholic Robert MacFarlane. The photography was beautiful. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00qsxy5
That was followed on BBC4 by a fascinating doco following the school lives of a handful of children and teachers in Damascus, including an Iraqi Christian refugee. Syria is host to two million Iraqi refugees. Two million!
Does this kind of thing always happen on a Wednesday? Should I forsake the mid-week pint more often? Should this thread be entitled "In praise of the BBC"?
