I tend to stay away from Greggs due to the fact that if I do go in there I will have two sausage, baked bean and cheese melts plus a large chicken tikka baguette.

A little tale,before my gallbladder went tits up i used Greggs on a regular basis,but only during rides,before 11-00 am you got a breakfast deal a warm drink and a bacon/sausage or both in same bun.
Now i ate these in Otley,Meanwood,Acomb and York.
Now we always had conversations with the ladies,who were always impressed with the distances we were riding.So one afternoon i banged off an e-mail to HQ,telling them what a great bunch of staff they had,and saying Otley was my fave.
Well weeks later we arrive in Otley and order our breakfast deal only to be interrogated about writing to HQ so i owned up yes it was me.Bless them they were so pleased to have been praised they had put the letter up in the staff room.
Only thing now bacon/sausage is off, my stomach cannot take it.Greggs is ok by me.

Postal worker from Jan 1972 - August 2006.I 2006 to EVR early vol redundancy,would have been a fool not to.Pension at 56,massive lump sum tax free,never worked since.I am now the housekeeper.
It's superb.
Back in the 70's and 80's it was a great job,fantastic workmates,and we did a great job.Two deliveries a day,but six days a week,up at 04-15 at work at 05-00,but finished by 11-30-12-00.
Great days.And we were profitable,which was skimmed off to prop up other parts of the buisness.

did you know that you can buy some "cook at home" greggs stuff from iceland?

That knocks up the cost a fair bit. You'd think they'd make the stuff available in England....

Like you wouldnt believe its essentialy just a soft bread roll with toffee covering but damn fine imo. They were 1 for 79p or 2 for 99p i could never resist a bargain "2 please"
