Aaargh, that's another jacket ruined! I was at a beer festival last weekend and a well intentioned charity worker was collecting money for the local hospice. After paying, he would cheerfully slap a sticker on to you to show his colleagues you'd donated and not to bother you again. So I come to peel the sticker off my suede jacket today and it's only the surface that came off leaving behind a white rectangle which will not scrape off!

Another charity worker once stuck a pin with the sticker on through a Goretex jacket I had on thereby rendering it not waterproof! Isn't that annoying?

I refuse sticker/badges - I'm quite happy to either donate again or say no.

Try brake disc cleaner to remove the sticky stuff*

It must have been hell being surrounded by charity workers looking for donations from the weekend until now, necessitating that you keep the sticker in play for half the week before feeling safe enough to remove it

* I am not guaranteeing it will not ruin the jacket in the meantime though, but it does wonders with sticky stuff removal.

I just ask them not to give me a sticker - It has nothing to do with clothing (although now that I think about it, yes, it could be a problem, thanks for highlighting that fact to me), rather, I always think

'You are looking for money, so why are you wasting your money on these silly litttle stickers that most people over the age of about 10 don't want anyway??
I know you mean well, and you now have my money, but smeg off!!'.

[QUOTE 2915678, member: 1314"]Do 'gentlemen' still wear suede?

Goodness.

Suede shoes were much sought after by me and my pals in the late Sixties, particularly Clarks' Desert Boots, complete with crepe rubber soles. Unfortunately sweaty, spotty youths with raging hormones didn't interact well with these essential fashion items. Bromodrosis was almost pandemic.

Here's Mr Zappa's view....

Try rubbing the mark off with a suede brush. Practise on an unobtrusive area, as they say.
Thank you, I will. I'm off on a re-supply mission today (it may be referred to as 'shopping' in some parts) so will see if the supply station (Tesco) provides them and will buy one.
