Riding home this afternoon after going out for a spin I got well and truly gritted!

And you know what...IT BLOODY HURT...stingy and hurty I was and I may well have yelped and gone 'ow, ow,ow!'

No paint chips to the bike however so all ok

Fritters I gave come across actually stop the impellers as they pass you.
Must all be cyclists here!

I got gritted (although I didn't see any of Tony's fritters!) twice yesterday, didn't feel much but I was rather overdressed so it just bounced off a layer or three.

I've been gritted several times in the past, it does sting a bit.

And round here too. I also noticed the ambulances round here turn the siren off as they near a cyclist and start it again when they pass.

One thing I have noticed is police cars with sirens on being really cautious about overtaking me when on the bike. Almost as if they think i'm going to panic and do something totally random.

If there's any emergency vehicle nearby I always stop and get off the road ASAP, for their sake and mine!

being overtaken even at a correct distance by a fire engine doing 50+ with blues and two's on is one of the most terrifying experiences I have experienced on a bike.

farmers around here cutting hedges stop when a cyclist goes past

Could you have got off the road and out of the way?
