Using Sainsburys own foam and disposable blades one week usage.
Also gone to asking for a blade haircut.Number 6 last week.
That thin footpath that was a parting is now an American sized highway.

So i asked for the blade.Quite good so next time a number 4.I think it looks very tidy.
Number 6! You'll be tripping over it. Get a man's cut. Down to the wood. Remember- The Lord made some beautiful heads. The rest he covered in hair.

I still have a full head of hair

So did I until the kids were born. Still, in those eleven years the savings I have made on shampoo, conditioner gel and hairdressing fees have meant I can afford my own island in the Indian Ocean.

Wet shave with old-fashioned double sided razor and Wilkinson stainless steel blades. Shave daily (but have beard and moustache) and go through 4/5 blades/year.

I check whether or not they're too blunt by not shaving for a few days, then shaving one side of my face and waxing the other. If the shaving is more painful, I change the blade.

I shave with a Merkur DE razor, badger shaving brush, and an aftershave. Before I shave I put on some shaving oil on my face for preparation.
I must say that wet shaving is a routine I look forward to everyday.

A 1963 gillette superspeed or merkur HD double edged razor for me and my Dovo straight razor as a treat a weekends. Actually I seem to have quite a lot of shaving kit when I look at it...
Shaving is my time to get a bit of peace and quiet.

My weapon of choice...

Wet shaver here. Usually use a Palmolive shave stick. So much nicer and cheaper than any of the aerosol crap.

Use a Gillette GII or a DE safety razor. Modern multiblade razors cause me serious irritation and I've never found an electric razor capable of shaving my chin which resembles a wire brush.

Oh my! Have you ever tried to dry-shave your chin with a razor? I had to do it once when I was almost late for a job interview - suddenly realised I hadn't shaved, dove into a garage to buy a pack of disposable razors, toilet was out of action, ended up having to dry-shave in the rear-view mirror. "Painful" is not the word ...

Wet shave, traditional shaving brush and proper shaving soap or cream. Double edged safety razor that takes an old fashioned style razor blade.

Once you get the technique right a its closer more comfortable shave than I ever got from a multi blade razor and no ingrowing hairs. Works out cheaper to.

To me 5 blades means 5 X as much face taken off as well as beard. IMHO its all marketing.

Wet shave. Some of you guys must have really tough stubble - my twin blades usually last for weeks.
Same here, one month per razor. I shave after my shower, so the bristles have had a few minutes in hot water to soften them. Palmolive stick and a proper shaving brush.

Wet shave always.

I had a nasty experience with an electric philishave - the thing gripped hold of my stubble and jammed the rotating blades, leaving the shaver clinging to my face with no means of getting the bloody thing off. I had to yank it off in the end.

Chucked it straight in the bin.;)
Sorry but that made me laugh like a drain!

In other news...

I used to work Saturdays in a department store's electrical dept, selling razors among other things. At the time there were three brands: Braun and Philishave, which were neck and neck and really pretty good - not quite on a par with wet, but pretty good. And Remington, with their M3, an indescribably crappy piece of kit Yet it out-sold the other two put together. How so? The salesman got £3 for each one sold. I remember at the time being amazed that this was legal, but no-one else saw anything amiss about it.
