Any of you leg-shaving cyclists got the bravery to use an epilator? I use that on my legs for the summer (use a razor in the winter) and it saves a lot of effort, although it's a bit wince-inducing.

Does the epilator pull the hair out from the root so it shouldn't grow back?

no, I was listening to the radio, something made me laugh, my head moved, the razor stayed still, and I cut my nozzer, just at the edge of my right nostril.

Oh I see.

I've got a hairy nose. I just can't get the shaver up my nostril though.

You're braver than me. I'd rather not inflict pain on myself if I can avoid it.

I'm not particularly hirsute, I used to wet shave, but found it a pain for the amount I have to whip off, so went to an electric razor, which is quick and no mess.

Since this post I have (recently) returned to a wet shave, mainly because I saw all these amazing 'Real Shaving Company' products for sale in our local Poundland shop,at erm £1 each, they looked expensive, and included shave cream, face scrub, and aftershave soothing balm.

I googled the 'Real Shaving Company', and found out the products retailed (elsewhere) at £4.99 each.

I promptly marched back to Poundland and purchased a shed load (£20 quids worth!) of shaving cream, face scrub and aftershave soothing balm, I now have enough of these products to last me for years.

I also brought a King of shaves razor in Superdrug reduced to £3.16, it came with 3 blades!

My beard is older than some of my colleagues!

Ha ha  that quote is a variation on... "I've got a pair of boots that are older than you". Oft quoted at brand new out of the box probationer police officers!

Dry shave every damned day of my adult life; I have just worked out that I have spent about 15 days of my life shaving, despite having a beard for a few years.

If you look at an electron microscope photo of a hair cut with a sharp razor, it looks like a perfect chisel point whereas a hair cut with an electric razor is mashed to pieces like a green stick. If I wet shave I can see the tiny little sharp ends gleaming and the stubble is much sharper and more painful to touch.

Wet shave - I can't get a close shave with an electric razor, even a frighteningly expensive one.

Just use soap, something I initially did when the 'no liquids' rule for flying was introduced, and I've stuck with it as I find it works just as well as gel and is one less thing to buy/carry.

I agree about Gillette blades: every time they bring out a new one, it shaves closer and lasts longer. I have a tough bristle and a cheap blade is blunt after 3-4 days maximum while I get 10-14 days out of a Fusion.

A little bird told me that the newfangled blades they sell these days are so sharp that they aren't actually blunt when you think they are and that the microscopic blade edges bend over, causing an impression of bluntness. When you next change a blade try keeping the old one and reusing it after a few weeks of rest. You'll possibly find that it feels sharp again!

Anyone tried Noxzema Menthol foam? It feels like Assos minty bum creme, but for your face!

There was this one guy in our old office who had a long hair on his nose, but he was totally oblivious to the fact. Me and some Indian mates used to call him Iqbal...an man's name which means "One Hair" (Iq=1, bal=hair).
