3 months ago I decided to get back on my old road that my father bought me when I was 16 (I am now 31) After 6 years of sitting in a friends garage I was amazed to find all the bearings where free moving and the tyres even held pressure. So off I went on my first ride since I passed my driving test, 13 miles later I was in agony thinking why did I start this.

3 months later and some perseverance I have lost 17 pounds in weight and just completed a fantastic week, for me, on the bike.

In the last 7 days I have covered 152.3 miles.
Completed my first ride over 50 miles. http://app.strava.com/rides/24774155
Completed my 2nd ride over 50 miles with some decent climbs in. http://app.strava.com/rides/25394621
Had the GPS fall off the handlebars and bounce down the road at 40mph to survive without a scratch.
Spent the best £30.00 I have ever spent on a cheap cree LED light from China and came home buzzing after my first night ride.

For some this is probably just a normal week in the saddle but compared to were I was 3 months ago I am chuffed to bits.

Good stuff. I've got one of those cheap cree lights. Need to give it a proper night-time test,

Very impressive Rob and the Worcestershire countryside is a lovely area to be cycling in. I used to live down there but now up in Shropshire, which has lovely countryside of it's own

Thanks for the comments folks, still felling it in the legs but looking forward to longer, faster and more rides in the next big week.

Well done you deserved to be chuffed with yourself. Keep up the good work.

Excellent!

I'd also like a link though - I love my knog lights by they're fast becoming a consumable rather than a tool.

The light you are looking for is a cree LED, a link to the light is here. I think now you may be able to get them even cheaper, comes with no branding on the box or instructions but well worth the money.
