Well I have free servicing with it, which is great. Any things I should be doing with bike or don't do certain things

Cycle lover.
Been aware a service is little more than (but still worthwhile) a safety check, make sure everything's ok, adjust gear cable tension, which usually needs to be done when the bikes been used a bit, maybe oil the chain if you're lucky.

What you can do on a regular basis is...
Make sure tyres are well / correctly inflated.
As Colourspinner says, wipe the chain regularly and lube (then wipe again) search the Mickle method on here, its very simple and quick.
Inspect your brake pads once in a while, remove and metal shards or grit that will cause scraping and damage on you rims.
Make sure you don't ride in the gutter, best way ever to reduce punctures if nothing else.
