Interesting site here LINK that shows what the end user is achieving. And you can set it to UK gallons.

17mpg does sound shocking, but at about 50p per litre, their 17mpg is no more expensive than 50mpg in the uk.
but its a damn sight more harmful to the environment than 50mpg .

Looking forward to taking delivery of my new '4 wheel motorbike' on the 1st of March.

In all fairness to the poster with the F-150 american style pick up truck, he has went for the uber green baby of the pack - now if he had chosen the F550 Super Duty version and was returning 6.8mpg.....
I know with Vauxhall if you have Flame Red they fade, and Power Red doesn't as it has a clear coat. Most manufacturers used a clear coat from 06 onwards. Here's mine, clayed and polished every couple of months and waxed with carabuna wax usually once a month.
Vauxhall Astra 1.9cdti with adjustable map running at 181hp and 261 lb-ft torque can switch to just under 200 which is fun but starts to get bad turbo lag and smokes a bit much for me and Vauxhall make there 6 speed box from cheese so need to be a bit carefull.

Other vehicles in the fleet include a Lotus Elise, which got used today for the first time this year to take me to a new LBS, a lovely journey there.

Finally there is a Caterham R500, this is track focused, although road legal. It hasn't been used in too long and needs a new home. Any budding track day / racing drivers, please apply here.

What Elise have you got?
The R500 sounds like fun, but possibly a bit too much on the very impractical side, be a great hillclimb car if anybody was up foor that.
Have you been up the Hardings at the other end (Duns - Longformacus road) - gets the blood circulating!
Only in the car, I've never cycled it. Great at night in the summer. Longformacus is a tad desolate, not for the cold blooded.

21 years of driving history can be summed up in only ever having owned 1 car - a Honda Accord 2.0d se (now dead). My favourite car was my OH's Audi A4 2.8L quattro which I drove & was main driver for, whilst he had my car and was main driver for...

My OH owns the current car, a '02 VW Passat 2.0tdi which has sat on the driveway since Saturday I think without moving and sometimes goes nowhere all week.

I am carless, but do have 3 bikes to choose from...

I don't have a horse. I might get one in a few years to feed the family
