A Sportive bike is what manufacturers call a sportive bike in their catalogues - usually a racer type machine, more relaxed geometry, wider clearances, often mudguard and rack bosses. Sometimes referred to as a Winter Bike in the bizarre world of the cylcling press. Any questions regarding the category should be directed to them, as its their invention.

I appreciate you could ride your penny farthing in a Sportive if you felt like doing so.

I have two Cinelli Experience and put on in each category Road and Sportive as that's how they're used.

Isn't running a poll fun?

You forgot the "I refuse to vote because I object to the other poll options" option.

Surly claim its a "...cyclo-cross bike by design...".

Nice looking machine it it's too.
I'd quibble with that - it's a bit of a lump to be a "proper" CX, and is festooned with braze ons. IMO, it fits slightly more comfortably into "Do It All" or "Light Tourer" as a category. Nice bikes though - I plumped for a Long Haul Trucker in the end, but deliberated between that and the Cross Check for a while.

It was a valiant, pointless, and inevitably doomed attempt.

I am going to start a campaign for more people in Drago's neck of the woods to get lost so he can spend loads of time looking for them and less time on here

I only have one bike :-( and it is a road hybrid which doesn't match any of these categories. I am therefore being deprived of my basic human right to take part in meaningless online polls and I shall complain to the ECHR.
