I got such an 'Ah bless/Are you mental' reaction whilst getting supplies today I wondered what you all use your bikes for. Mine is a do it all bike, I tour on it, I shop on it, I commute when needed on it and everything in between. I don't do specialist training I just ride a bike for everything and never thought much on it. I have even moved house with it once. So what do you use yours for?

Nothing special here really, I have a small collection which are all 26'' Retro's, but... I discovered 29ers over the summer-ish months of 2020.
Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty getting off it, it just goes everywhere I want it to go, made some mods & I love it!

Mainly on the rollers or turbo. Too much ice round here at the moment to make it 50 metres from my house without falling off.

I don't commute on them now, nor do I take it to the shops - any of them as I haven't actually got one I'd leave outside a shop without an armed guard.
I don't live in Manchester, which helps (:okay:), but even in Tod I wouldn't leave a valuable bike anywhere in public. I feel happy enough locking up my DIY singlespeed outside Lidl though. My total expenditure was under £100 and it is obvious from looking at the bike that it isn't worth much so it would be pretty stupid to risk pinching it.

Lidl is far enough from here for the extra faff of locking up the bike to be worth it. Aldi is opening a store here next Thursday though and the balance there will be the other way. It will probably be 2 minutes quicker to walk there and back than to use the bike.

In non-Covid times I generally cycle to Hebden Bridge rather than going by train or bus. I've hardly been there at all in the past year though.
