What, exactly, is wrong with a McDonald's?

Which is why you should both visit the newly opened branch in Kirkstall. It's one of the new ones where you can order food on a tablet and the polite and friendly staff will deliver it to your table. So @slowmotion you don't have to sit in the car eating (though there is a drive-through if you want to) and @SpokeyDokey your food will still be hot when it's brought to you.

Did I mention my son has a student job there?
I still want to feel like a saint when I dump the packaging and the uneaten chips in the bin, rather than toss them onto the tarmac like the families in surprisingly expensive cars.

I need a few plastic gold stars these days.

Yes, I seem to remember you mentioning it recently.

The food is still crap though - they put too much salad in the Big Mac as well as too little salt in the patties. And their Cola is not fit to lubricate a parched dog's throat.

Can your son fix this across the entire Mcglobalmononopolyfastfood empire?

You don't go there for an imaginative Cordon Bleu meal though.

To be fair, I don't go very often, but sometimes it simply fills a gap.

I get the impression though, on my once a year visit, that those other van / 4WD / people carrier driving customers are not there to fill an occasional gap... they're there for their daily lunch (in the case of the van drivers) or daily after school treat (for the 4WD and people carriers) and the nightly munchies (for the boy racers).

There are cafes in town struggling for business that will never see these people. That's one reason why I say it's food for the unimganinative. Most aren't there to fill an occasional gap, otherwise there wouldn't be the queues. It's become the default, that's the problem.

The food's empty, generally tasteless crap, that's my problem with McDonald's. You feel bloated immediately, you get a big sugar rush, then feel awful, and you're hungry not that long after.
I very occasionally feel like I would like one & then regret it immediately on eating it/them although it must now be a couple of years since having one, they may have changed. The best thing they do is a Sausage & Egg Mcmuffin although they seem much smaller than before.

But you would want to go a lot more often, possibly even on a daily basis, if you tried the Kirkstall branch.

I mean occasionally, not every day!

:mrpig:

Rather than some weird passive aggressive attack on who knows who, wouldn't it be better for you to point out what's so totes Amazeballs about the Ronald of Donald.

Fairy 'nuff!

Congratulations to Piemaster Jnr, and a poke in the eye to all those that denigrate them that get a job and workforce a living!
If ever I get to Kirkstall, I'll call in :okay:
Thanks. It's his first job, after applying for and having inumerable interviews in the last 6 months. But he has persisted and got something. He was going to start leafleting if it hadn't happened. Late evening starts and hours taking him well into the small hours, then sleeping until lunchtime - pretty much his normal hours really. Enough to eat on and pay the bills, and it's always easier to get a job once he has had some experience.
