Invasion USA.

Why would an army of terrorists try to cause trouble in Florida when they know Chuck Norris is waiting for them?

It serves them right that he single handedly wipes the floor with them whilst stopping their shenanigans.

It must be at least twenty years since I last watched this and it's every bit as gloriously over the top as I remember it. 😂

Like Hugh Jackman? Emma Thomson? Patrick Stewart? Bryan Cranston? Brett Goldstein? Bella Ramsay? Chris O'Dowd?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Fancy a watching a film about talking sheep?
Errr, I'll get back to you.
The Sheep Detectives. You might enjoy it.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Absolute garbage. Wasn't expecting anything highbrow from Guy Ritchie but this was really poor.
Based on what is clearly a fascinating wartime true story but done in a completely over the top way. Good guys slaughter hundreds of Germans each without getting a hair out of place.
So obviously a desperate attempt to make something akin to Inglorious Basterds (even had one of the same cast members) but fell miles short.

The trailer looked good but man they messed it up so badly. As you say it's a true story and that would have been so much better than this.

‘The Other Guys’, with Ferrel, Wahlberg and a Cast of Stars. Keeps setting you up, then cutting your feet from under you. Don’t bail because of the ‘over-the-top’ beginning.

Just watched the Man who found infinity on net flicks.
I found it quite moving for a film about numbers. Lives not quite hitting their potential due to prejudice.

Scarface a couple of nights ago. Where to start. Characterisation as Cuban gangsters is awfully badly done. Putting a bunch of actors with New York Italian accents in a Miami setting doesn't turn them into Cubans. Pacino's rendition of the few Spanish words he says is terrible. Even Montana is the wrong surname. If he was Cuban it would be Montaña.

There's a sprinkling of Spanish here and there, which seems to be an attempt at authenticity, but falls flat in its face because most of it is just English with Spanish words. In the last scene, when the Bolivians attack, the Bolivian boss says "Vámonos", but they continue attacking, which really confused me. In that context "vámonos" means let's get out of here, the character should have said "vamos" to mean let's go.

Why is this movie so highly considered? 3/10

It is a movie not a documentary. You sound like a poster who goes on about police shows not being realistic. The majority of viewers don't care about authenticity. I give you Russel Crowe as Robin Hood for example.

Authenticity aside, I have never understood why it's highly rated either. It's a bang average gangster film compared to those of a similar era, and not much else.

The parody of it in GTA: Vice City is spot on though, and more entertaining than the film.

Yep, chuck norris type slop with big ticket names. That's the most praise I can give it.

Every barber seemed to have a poster of it up at one time. Probably still do, but I take care of my own topiary these days.

I can only assume people who rate it have never seen The Godfather Trilogy. Hell, even the unfairly maligned Godfather 3 is better.

Ever heard of The Godfather? They got British educated Sosa to say pi$$ed off instead of pi$$ed but they couldn't bother to ask the likely Spanish speaking extras to use believable Spanish?
