The Eastern Front - the Point of No Return.

An odd one. Very simply plot, the whole thing mainly character driven. The problem is the character development is a bit clumsy and obvious.

I also suspect it was filmed in a field in Dorset. Im not kidding, if you watch it you'll know what I mean. It was clearly low budget. Very low budget.

And why is one Nazzy character carrying a Tommy gun? Thats nefer explained.

Still, I felt compelled to watch to the end confirm that which id already guessed about the plot.

4/10. Barely watchable. Shame, as the basic premise has potential but it seems to have wilfully missed the target.

Denmark on Iplayer.

Nice little film. Rafe Spall as a down on his luck Welshman who comes up with a novel idea to improve his situation.

Spall possibly a bit too good looking to be entirely convincing in the role but decent unchallenging viewing for a midweek evening.

The Substance. I thought it was going to be boring, something like the devil wears prada, but I was very wrong. It is highly graphic and genuinely horrific. Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley. I've seen Qualley in other stuff and she's excellent

Never heard of this before! The trailer makes it look UTTERLY likable. And Joel Fry's in it; it looks like every other Joel Fry thing. Except I think he's Welsh in this. (And his other mate looks just like Geraint Thomas.)

The Danish girl he meets is rather pleasant, although as one reviewer commented, she's so immediately obvious as the love interest that she may as well have had "love interest" tattooed on her forehead!

CopLand.

An intriguing thriller with a stellar cast. Stallone really proves he can actually act, and Ray Liotta and Robert DeNiro are clearly working hard to keep up.

Throw in Rober Patrick and Harvey Keitel, a clever script, and a really unexpected climax, and this becomes one of the most underrated cop thrillers of all time.

9/10. A must-watch.

The Missing was great TV....first series especially, still one of the best whodunnits I've watched.
But I thought Baptiste sort of fizzled out, should of ended it earlier.

The first series of the missing was very good. It hit me hard at the time, as our boy was about the same age as the missing boy. I don't think I could bear watching it again.

Might have to check out "The Missing", as it's still on iPlayer.
