p.s. Anyone else noticed that you cannot read imdb reviews without creating an account now ?
I think this is the least of IMDB's problems in its current flavour. Shame, as a few years ago it was always my Go-To movie reference.

79 apparently, though I don't recall much talk of it at the time. I'd have been in the 6th form or first year uni
I have experience similar (GPS not reporting correct location). Sailing in Channel off Brighton and the GPS was giving solid position in Central France. Held to incorrect position through day until evening when it started reporting correctly.Plot holes everywhere, such as her GPS losing signal with a vast, clear sky above her.

Apex, on Netflix.
I liked Charlize Theron very evidently enjoying her mission to show that 50 old women can be seriously badass!
She did a lot of the stunts herself and had got extremely fit so she could. She smashed herself up quite badly in some of them but said that she still had a fantastic time starring in the movie.
Plot holes everywhere, such as her GPS losing signal with a vast, clear sky above her. The baddy also was apparently able to move on foot at ridiculous speed in incredibly hostile terrain. Forget all that though, and have some escapist action fun!

Quadrophenia
I had seen it before many decades ago on tv, but on rewatching really appreciated just how good it is. A very young Phil Daniels superb in the lead as a young mod trying to rebel but still very much wanting to belong to a tribe. Portrays the excitement (for some) of the violence between mods and rockers, without glamorising the stupidity and hooliganism of it all. Pace, acting, and visuals first class. Apparently the film was a few years after the rock opera album it is based on. Excellent cast includes Ray Winston, Sting, Lesley Ash, Toyah, Michael Elphick and many more who went on to be stars or sucessful character actors. I thought it stood the test of time rather better than Tommy which we also watched recently. The Tommy movie is a through-sung as a proper (rock) opera, whilst Quadrophenia is a conventional narrative movie with a soundrack.
Scary climbing, scary kiyaking, scary baddy!I watched it a few days ago. While I cannot remember having any complaints, I simply cannot remember much about it.
Could be an age issue.![]()
