What film did you watch last night?

A walk among the tombstones starring Liam Neesom. Not his best at all. Nearly 2 hours long, and quite boring to be honest. It could have been an hour and a half film easily but they insisted on drawing it out. Disappointed In a word. 6/10 only.

I got started with Lars von Trier's 'Riget' series again tonight, which might as well be a film only it's 8 hours long.

9/10

Basically it's about a haunted hospital, and it's almost a soap opera in a way but so much more than that. Hard to describe really.

It's brilliant and for me his best and most imaginative work. If you like spooky, weird, thought provoking and at times challenging films I can't recommend it highly enough.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is a loving piss-take which is well worth a watch too.

Ocean Waves - a Studio Ghibli, but very different from any I've seen before. Quite enjoyed it, but not what I was expecting, and a bit underwhelming in truth.

And also Jane Eyre, in a rather good version made quite recently - 2011 - by the BBC. Excellent central performance by Mia Wasikowska, who I've never heard of.

I started to watch a film called anomaly, but after only 15 minutes I turned it off. Its one of those films that just keep going over and over the same thing. it ionly makes sense at the last moment, maybe, probably, perhaps.


To be honest, I can't be bothered with films like that anymore. They just annoy me, so I will give it a massive 2/10.

Didn't pay much attention to the story lines but some great tunes.

I went to the cinema and watched the Avengers: Age of Ultron.

If you like that sort of film, you'll definitely like it. James Spader stole every scene as Ultron.

I didn't like it as much as the first Avengers film, but it was still very enjoyable.

Whisky Galore! Still a truly great film and always worth a watch.

Not merely superb entertainment, but a true masterpiece. Just the photography alone - any frame of it could be printed up as a fine art photograph. Great story, great acting, darkly subversive with the ordinary folks "sticking it to The Man" as might be said in another genre. A joy from start to finish.

Started watching a film last night, I can't remember what it was called and I fell asleep after about 15 minutes. It was all in foreign and had some European hillbilly types in it, someone bought some rope and someone else got shot in a boat, I remember that. Might give it another go tonight...

I watched Robin Hood. The 1960 version starring Richard Greene. It had surprisingly quite a few stars. Considering how old it was it wasn't a bad film. Quite entertaining. 6/10

Dracula untold. It was really good, but had that typical hint of a sequel ending.

The Babadook.Quite a good film and enjoyed this one.Much better than the recent Insidious,Occulus, and other Paranormal flics out there. 7/10

And as you know i`m a horror nut so cant have a night without one,Phatasm Oblivion.I am a massive fan of this franchise. 8/10

I decided to try one of those last night - an old made-for-tv version of Ivanhoe. It got a near-respectable 6.9 on IMDB and had some names in it, including the generally bankable Michael Horden. I lasted about 20 minutes before deciding it was the biggest load of cack I'd seen in many a year - perhaps in my lifetime - and gave up, in favour of The Bourne Supremacy, which had just started on the other side, and proved to be rather better. Never really knew what was going on, which is par for the course, but he was very moodily effective, and the car chases (and for that matter foot chases) were excellently done.
