Justice League.
Unconvincing Batman mopes at a few people that don't really like him and convinces them to fight with him and do a Frankenstein on Superman... who also doesn't like him. Plenty of 'oh look it's an attractive girl' shots of Wonder Woman. And a villain who kicks the crap out of everyone until Superman gets his marbles back and kicks the crap out of him while some rubiks cube type stuff goes on behind his back.
I don't know but I like the acting, the effects, the development of everything, and all that jazz but DC just has something missing that Marvel delivers.
There's a lot goes on, the pace is great and visually it's stunning. Very watchable.
7.6452/10.

PS What gym are these people going to because unlike @Drago I'm feeling very under-muscled after watching this? :training:

Justice League:

I also watched this last night after avoiding it at the cinema due to mixed reviews and the rather rubbish Batman vs Superman that went before it.

It's significantly better than you'd imagine and there's even a bit of humour in there - question to Batman, "What's your super power?" "I'm rich".
Clearly they're trying to replicate the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the Flash is very "new" Spiderman-ish in lots of ways and while it doesn't quite hang together as well, don't forget some of the overlong clunkers the MCU have turned out in the past.
They're also clearly aware that the big success so far for the franchise is Wonder Woman, who features heavily along with some not too subtle camera angles...

So, a decent enough park your brain and enjoy the show action movie and at under 2 hours it doesn't go on too long like many of them do.
It's not as good as the Christian Bale Batman trilogy and I remain to be convinced about the 45-year old Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight. Superman is also still annoyingly Super, but there is potential here.

7.5/10

Edit to add - I'm sure that Supermans family ranch in Kansas is the same one as was in a Transformers movie a few years back.

Kenny (2006) ... and Australian mockumentary about Kenny, an average guy who works on the portable toilets at festivals and events. As far as mockumentaries go, this was very average until he got on a plane... then it's packed full of charm. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended. 8/10

I don’t know anyone who liked the Justice League comics so a movie will always be an uphill struggle imo. Also imo Affleck was good as the Dark Knight, I just don’t see how that darkness can work with the happy clappy justice league tripe.

Am yet to watch it though

What I Did on my Summer Vacation.

Under the radar but surprisingly good Mel Gibson flick. Very violent, but a lively and imaginative plot. Quite entertaining.

7/10.

Under the radar because Gibson was impossible to market at the time. It really is a great film though.

I'm having to ask serious questions about my cinematic moral compass these days, which is a good thing.

I've got a blanket ban on Woody Allen.

It's also known in some markets as Get the Gringo. Yeah, it's a decent film. Not brilliantly directed, but a compelling plot, well paced, and Mel Gibson refrains from being anti Semitic for the whole film, which would have excluded him from joining the Labour party at the time.

'Cars'

I quite enjoyed it

It was fun to spot what each character was;
Sally(?) the Porch was an LA Lawyer.... (stereotyping?)

The backdrops were amazing, once they were out in the 'desert', with a good few of the ridges/features being car parts, like the bonnet/hood ornament that they drove through, on McQueens first drive out of the town
Plus the Cadillac Range, as its named on a map, as Sally explains the towns demise

A good reference to the art-installation of the half-buried Cadillacs (& of course, maybe Springsteens 'Cadillac Ranch' song)

And, as for Radiator Springs itself:biggrin:
Glorious 1930s Art-Deco heaven:wub:, even more so when all the Neon is relit
There's one scene where all the Neons reflecting off the fins & trunk, of a cruising car, & distorting light, to match
Excellent!!!

I'm not sure, if I should tell my 17 year old daughter that I watched, & enjoyed it???

Sucker Punch.
IMDB users agree this is a Marmite movie. Which I agree with.
Fantastic visuals, but I'm afraid I'm on the no likey side due to the ending.
But it's daring and different: 6/10.

Inferno - 2/10

I only watched this because there was nothing else available. Monentally stupid, but gave it a couple of points for the demon cgi stuff near the beginning, which was very good.

I hadn't read the book, but saw the twist coming a mile away. From quite near the beginning really, if you know anything about hospitals.

Rememory.
Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones fame searches for the killer of a man who's invented a machine that can read memories.
The acting is spot on, the pace is good, and the music spot on. There's a final twist in the tale that has has you rethinking Sam's motives.
It's also good to see a story where you don't know everything about the character, and you wonder if he's lying.
Really liked this one. 9/10.

I never read the comics, but watched the Warner Brothers animation, as well as the Batman animations
First class!!, especially the full length films

Affleck was a surprise to me, as I liked Bale too, but you can't doubt he put the physical work in to build the body

It'd be nice to see it shadow the animation, with John Jonz, & Shihira (Hawkgirl) etc....

However, as for the 'Dark Deco' of the Batman animations... .wow!!
It also has the best two voices for Bruce & The Joker...……………………….

You need to watch all the Disney Pixar stuff. Cars 1,2,3, Nemo, Hotel Transylvania, Despicable Me 1,2.3 (seriously the funniest films I've seen).

They are fab - I'm still watching all of them even though my two are now 17 and 15. Coco is also excellent.
