Reach for the Sky ( British biopic about Douglas Bader a double amputee who became a Battle of Britain fighter pilot!)

Great inspiration as I’m currently “leg up”recovering from knee surgery

I watched that too. "Rules are for the obedience of fools, and the guidance of wise men", Bader famously said. Interesting, as if he hadn't broken the rules on aerobatic flying he wouldn't have lost his legs, and if he'd obeyed the rules about formation flying on bomber escort duties he wouldn't have got shot down, lost a valuable fighter aircraft, and spent the rest of the war eating gruel at Chez Jerry.

Fighting Beat.

A spectacularly over the top Thai martial arts film, there's good guys and bad guys, with a wrong from the past that's to be righted via some hilariously over the top fight scenes.

What a giggle, 5/10.

Fist Fight.

Mildly amusing American comedy about a teacher who gets another teacher sacked, only to be challenged to a fight. The poor soul then spends the rest of the film gettingnjnto scrapes as he tries to work his way out of having a fight.

Not especially original, but mildly amusing. 5.5/10.

Being there. Seen it before and I'm sure I'll see it again, and with equal delight. What a brilliant premise, brilliantly realised. And what a performance. Peter Sellers - genius is a much-abused word, but if there's a more fully realised character in film history, it's passed me by. Up there with the very best.

The Party - 9/10

Not sure this really qualifies as a film given it runs just over 70mins, but it's a real gem of black comedy. Funny, scathing, stylish and clever I loved every minute. Brilliant performances all round from the 7 who make up the cast, though Patricia Clarkson just steals it with her cutting remarks.

Something weird going on with this thread. It says in the main forum that a post was made 22 minutes ago, yet the last one I can see is from June 10th...??
