Massive banger.
Hadn't read the book, but N had and really enjoyed this adaptation.
It's got a weird fairy-tale feel in some ways, despite having lots of adult themes. Don't watch unless you like swamps! I'm sure it's not for everyone.
(Scores several extra points for having more boat trips than cars, and no phone calls. Not even text messages ♥️)

N.b. if you complain that a film wasn't enough like a book, I will hire Liam Neeson and hunt you down.

Rules of Engagement (recently on Freeview) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_of_Engagement_(film)

Good cast, OK acting, well enough filmed. Very predictable, all very obvious, very "me too" (going through the motions). Stuck at it and watched to the end but not very inspiring, not really worth the time.

The Evil Dead

Never seen it before, and never really wanted to, but rummaging through Prime I decided to give it a go.

Usually in this type of film when a monster/demon/etc makes an appearance the kids steam straight into action as if it's something that happens everyday, rather than go straight into shock and freeze, so it was a bit of a surprise to see that happen this time.

A decent film and I can see why it was lauded when it first came out.

7/10.

I remember when I first watched that I then went and rented (from the video shop lol) The Evil Dead 2 which is basically a higher budget remake of ED, I was very confused at the time until I learnt later what it was.

Thunderbolts on disney plus , pretty standard fare from the marvel studios but i think the sentry/ void evolution needed more screen time .

Same. I thought it was great for the first 2/3, then completely botched the landing.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Others in the series were quite good. This one, complete drivel.

Many scened just dragged on and on and on ... Could have been an hour shorter and more exciting. during some action sequences they dragged on so long I was picking up my phone and checking tomorrow's weather forecast.

No originality eg bits of story/script lifted from The Hunt for Ref October

Good thing the series has ended but probably should have ended after the previous film.

Pitch Perfect (it really doesn't matter which one, they're all basically the same film) - 7/10

Basically High School Musical for adults, but subtle enough that it managed to get away with a 12 rating. There's nothing new, but it's funny, well paced and has a fair few "I can't believe they said that" moments, which keeps it moving along neatly.

Apparently the guy who played Bumper didn't know he was auditioning for a musical, and there's a spin off TV series involving him which I've only just found out about and will probably give a go.
