One of the lower budget offerings on Prime.

A priest goes to China and is somehow infected with dinosaur venom, think Peter Parker/spider bite type of thing, and this obviously allows him to transform into a crime fighting superhero.

He teams up with a hooker and sets out to avenge the murder of his parents whilst doing some very unholy things with his new friend.

It's utter cack, but it's that bad that it just scrapes in on the right side of the, 'it's so bad that it's good,' line.

At the flicks.
Wow. One of the best movies all year. Stark, creepy, unsettling. Think the dread of Blair Witch crossed with the starkness and the claustrophobia of The Shining. Absolutely fabulous movie.

Strange Days (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_Days_(film))
Remembered it from many years ago and enjoyed it back then. But some older films survive time well, others don't and wondered if it would stand up well today.

Excellent cast Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis & Tom Sizemore and directed by Kathryn Bigelow. (From Wikipedia) "A major commercial failure, Strange Days nearly derailed Bigelow's career, grossing only $17 million against its $42 million budget."

Pretty simple story so much more about the way it was told, the acting, etc.

Good film. Stood "test of time" fairly well. From memory back when it was released I considered it excellent (enough to buy the DVD) but now just worth watching again.

Kylie - Tension tour - Netflix.

Not a big Kylie fan but we watched the preceeding documentary on NF about her career and life during which she was very candid, especially about her cancer diagnosis. Worth a watch 7/10.

On the strength of this we decided to watch the Tension tour.

It was, sadly, poor. She looked great, interesting costume changes and she was energetic.

The singing was shambolic. We liked the dance music vibe although it was simplistic and didn't really vary much within each track. But the singing, oh dear. Most tracks were obviously recorded and played in totality, ie with her voice on them.

She dipped in and out of her own lines, singing along sporadically. Amusing scenes of her throwing her arms about whilst holding her mic, ditto when holding the mic out for a crowd contribution - and her singing just carried on unaltered.

A great night out for a die-hard Kylie fan but musically very sub-par. 3/10.

Like a lot of B Movies they're usually passion projects, which would be better as a short rather than a full film, I think anyway. The joke/idea has usually run out of steam after an hour, often less.

Speaking of which @stephec, I watched Iron Lung this afternoon (which is based on a game).

At just over 2 hours, it seriously stretched even my patience at times. Didn't help that it's essentially watching one guy in a submarine for the whole time.

If they'd cut it down to 90 minutes it would probably feel as tight and enjoyable as the best submarine based films, but the first half really was a slog.

That said, I'd still recommend it, because it's really well shot and goes with physical effects and props rather than CGI (mostly), which I'm always a fan of.

First half, 4/10, second, 7/10.
