What gig did you go to last night?

I saw them awhile back in Cardiff. Great band

Only gig lined up this year is Kruder and Dorfmeister at the Albert Hall in Manchester.

gigs are expensive these days especially when i have to factor in a train ticket and sometimes a hotel.

I’m not a huge concert-goer but the past includes:

Simple Minds
Bon Jovi (at Wembley Stadium)

Natalie Imbruglia
Crowded House
Sheryl Crowe (was a support act but arguably stole the night)
Pete Tong
Paul Weller
Plus a few others at the uni students’ union, the most memorable of which was River City People.

This year we are only doing middle class concert-going:

The Corrs supported by Natalie Imbruglia at Blenheim Palace
Bananarama at Hampton Court Palace
Pete Tong at The Royal Opera House.

David Gray at Llandudno last night. Been waiting for ages to go and see him, and we managed to get front row tickets. Absolutely amazing, could have cried listening to some of his older songs.

O2 academy on Saturday night, I've helped out with a band called Rolling Thunder for a few years, they are my mates kids, they were supporting the Bluetones. The lads were great, as were the Bluetones, but they only played for an hour, which is a bit shoot.

If I can get my ar$e in gear (I am a world-class procrastinator) I'd quite like to see ex-lush singer Miki Berenyi, perform 'up the road' in Bristol in May.

Last time I saw her/Lush live was in '92 at The Venue, New Cross.
Then bumped into her at the bar at a Throwing Muses gig : Astoria, '95 IIRC

After listening to the 'debut' album all day today, I've - now - booked tickets to see the Miki Berenyi Trio @ Bristol's Exchange venue on 16/5/25.
Really looking forward to it!!

Duke Special were excellent last night.

My 2025 so far:
Franz Ferdinand - new album release show - to be honest the songs from the new album are pretty weak
Mogwai - complete onslaught, very good show - glad I took earplugs
Manic Street Preachers - just great
The Wombats - great new songs and a few classics
Paul Heaton - acoustic set, loved it
Julien Baker/Torres - acoustic set, which means less of the country music stuff (so all good)
John Cale - he's the man but occasionally it would be nice to hear him play something recognisable that isn't Heartbreak Hotel
Mumford & Sons - acoustic show and as only a casual fan they made a really good racket
