Got dragged out to see Joe Swift off Gardeners World by Mrs W last night. Does that count as a gig, he did crack a few jokes.🤷🏼‍♂️

Black Honey at Omeara in Southwark.
Just superb, great small venue, excellent sound, crowd fully up for it, and ended up with Izzy on someone's shoulders doing the last song from the crowd. Proper.

Never heard any of him before, listening to some now - very nice.

In the same vein, Divine Comedy tickets on sale next week...

Did you get Divine Comedy tickets? I tried via the preferential early entry route, London (Barbican) seemed to sell out within seconds - came away empty-handed. I’ve been wanting to see them/Neil for years, so quite disappointed.

I miss the old days when you had to queue up for tickets!

Next gig for me is Daryl Hall in May.

Yes, got stalls tickets in the preorder for the Saturday. Shame you didn't try in the normal sale, there were plenty of tickets held for general sale but all gone now. Set up an alert on twickets, there'll definitely be something comes up.

Last studio album they did a release show in Kingston, so hopefully they'll do that again this year.

I went to Paris in 2022 to see them do two nights of the album back catalogue shows which was amazing.

Kingston - was that at the Pryzm before? I’ll keep an eye out. Any tips for getting tickets there - do you have to go to that Banquet records shop, or are there better ways? Thx!

You have to buy online https://www.banquetrecords.com/events

If you sign up to their email they send out the day before tickets are going on sale and tell you what time. For bigger names, they sell out in seconds so you need to refresh bang on the time they say. Often they then announce an earlier show which is usually a bit easier to get tickets for.

Couple of front row balcony tickets for the Saturday came up on Twickets over the weekend but gone now - you should be able to get tickets here at some point (at face value plus a few quid of fees): https://www.twickets.live/en/tour/the-divine-comedy/1316299975721754624

Kruder & Dorfmeister at Manchester's Albert Hall, playing their K&D Sessions LP live... ish. They had a full band; guitars, bass, flute, keys, drums plus a percussionist, but the vocal parts were all from tape. Top band and met up with a few old friends which was lovely.

Went to see Self Esteem do an album launch acoustic show last week. Nice enough but sometimes a bit shouty for me.

Got Stereophonics added to my upcoming list in Kingston in a couple of weeks.

I went to (and played in) a big band concert in Axminster this afternoon, mostly Glenn Miller, for a late VE Day event. Played my 1934 trumpet, which seems appropriate. (Photo from sound-check... we did have an audience for the concert!)
