Only part of the year... you might hate me if you have a read... https://unanglaisendiois.wordpress.com/

Here's the buzzy descent - it's my local hill.

(Sorry about the wind noise!)

Nice scenery in that area. One section that particularly caught my eye was the part of the D76 that heads (roughly) southeast from Saint-Jean-en-Royans, and hugs a cliff. The views there are amazing. Have you ridden that section?

Getting out the door, and setting off just before the sun rises and no traffic about yet.

Cruising along with four heavily laden panniers, and knowing the pleasure I'm giving to the wannabe racers who overtake me, whilst confident that I'm having more fun even although I haven't a clue where I'll sleep at night:smile:.

Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted
Being out on my bike with the air rushing past my face
Being out there at different times of the year and different weather, which helps me appreciate the different types of weather we have (but not ice, don't do icy conditions after falling off and hurting myself)
The different places I can get to on my bike
The endorphins kicking in - who needs drugs when you've got the endorphin ecstasy?

Just being out on a ride generally does it for me. But also conquering a new climb.

The views. Especially the unexpected ones, such as going over the mini-col of East Winch Road into Blackborough End and realising you can see out clear across the fens, but the old familiars are good too, like the top of Wimbotsham hill looking out across fens, crossing the north coast ridge and seeing out to sea, or rounding a corner to a familiar field of tulips or (later) sunflowers.

Returning from any ride without any mechanical issues (including avoiding the Flat-Tyre-Fairy).

Being a few miles out of the city, and realizing I could literally be in the middle of nowhere.

Making attempts at setting off Speed Cameras, does it for me.
Or a Blindingly Fast Downhill.
Speed seems to be the Common Denominator though.

Love trying that but never come anywhere near succeeding :banghead:
There was one at the bottom of a small Hill on my old commute that I managed to set off once and never got bored trying every time to replicate it without success. There's a stretch on my new commute that's been named the vulcan bombing run, as you throw the bike over from one side to another then a downhill stretch and I think it's the small boy in me that loves my speed being flashed up on the board knowing the cars can't even get up to speed quicker. I probably should be more embarrassed by that than I am.
