Finish Line Ceramic Wet lube, starting to run out. I've found the ceramic dry wax lubes don't go on very sparingly - tried it after accidentally clicking on Finish Line Ceramic Wax, and not my usual Ceramic Wet. Much prefer the wet as it's easy to wipe excess, goes a heck of a long way, and survives any wet commutes. The wax stuff just doesn't last as long and you use more 'fluid' per application.

Ive had success with the Squirt stuff. I have it on my good bike, gravel bikes and commuter. I think I've only applied it on my commuter twice this year. Its best to wipe it down after a wet ride but I've forgotten most times and its been fine. Components (chain / cassette) last longer and its a lot cleaner. Ive found a clean/ degreased chain prior to use (I use Peaty's foaming degreaser) and really shaking the bottle before applying gets the best out of it. Its a while since I've used it but I used to go through the FinishLine ceramic lube at the same rate.

I've also used the previously mentioned Tru Tungsten and whilst its got the great component life and cleanliness benefits too after a wet ride unless things were wiped and it was reapplied, ugly brown specs of surface rust would appear on the chain (easily wiped off but unsightly until you do).

A new saddle from Giant. The previous one broke at them rails because over been lifting the bike up from the sale(it's a rather heavy e-bike).
 
A pair of vision team DB30 wheels from Mango Bikes eBay shop.
They were from a liquidated goods auction, brand new and cost me £84.83.
They are brand new with the protective packaging on still.

I’ve just bought a set of used Shimano RT70 rotors to fit on the wheels. The lock rings are included too. The front is a 160mm and rear is a 140mm as I didn’t want to pay for an adapter to raise the height on the caliper.

I am now on the look out for a pair of tyres to fit to the wheels. I’ve gone cheap in the past and regretted it when the bead has come away from the tyre or the tyre has cracked after low mileage. I’m after 700c tyres in 35 or 38, ideally folding as they seem to roll better than rigid ones with a semi slick tread for the occasional tow path/champagne gravel ride but mostly road.

Caved in and bought a Selle Italia SLR (All Black) from Banana Industries for the CX Bike. Current saddle is white and getting tatty so gone for 'all black'. The bike is black and white. I already have an SLR on the best bike, but with cut out. This one doesn't because of the mud flingage on the CX. Bargain for £55.99 delivered. OK it's not a bargain compared to Charge Spoons (which are on two bikes).

Anyhoo, figured you only live once, so dug deep into my pocket and bought and brand new....bottle cage :wahhey:

I'm expecting a new bike. Week on Monday. It will be coming already set up tubeless, not had tubeless before. So, I got myself a little plug tool and some plug thingy. Along with a bottle cage, I've already got two matching ones for water but I wanted a third for carrying my tools.

Can't wait to get out on the bike.

Last few have been lemon and lime flavour so thought I'd try orange for a change.
Arrived just in time for weather to cool off 🙄.

Saddle arrived, and it's the 'flow' model with a small cut out. Don't mind really as my other is the same model, although it looks slightly more retro with 'perforations in the fabric. This one is black with black logos.

You don't get much for your money - i.e. it doesn't weigh much. 215g or there abouts.

I normally ride in Endura Hummvee baggies. They are fine for offroad rides, and moderate length road rides when temperatures are not too high. They are too hot and heavy for long rides in warm conditions though.

A few days ago I discovered that Endura do Hummvee Lite shorts, which sounded ideal for longer, warmer rides. I found them going for only £29.99 at Uprise Bikes and ordered a pair, which arrived at lunchtime today.

I find Endura sizing a bit tight. They say that I should be size L, but XL is better for me. Go a size bigger unless you really want your kit on the tight side. Once again, XL turned out right for me.

The waistband is stretchy and I found it very comfortable. I think that the lightweight material has some give in it too.

The shorts felt nicely cool on a warm ride this evening. I think they would be okay on any day that wasn't absolutely baking.

A pair of undershorts are provided, just as with standard Hummvees, but these are 'lite' too. They are thinner, cooler, and less padded than Endura's standard undershorts. They can be attached to the outer shorts but I prefer to let the 2 layers move independently so I don't clip them together.

The shorts felt fine to me on a ride just under 3 hours long. Maybe I would want more padding on a much longer ride though? I will wear them on a 100 km ride soon and see how I get on. PS I did a 7 hour hilly 106 km ride on a warm day this week. The shorts were great.

The shorts didn't impede my pedalling at all.

There are two press-stud fasteners to close the waistband so you are unlikely to suffer a sudden complete failure. (My old Hummvees had a single stud which broke on a ride after a few years of use. I was fat in those days so the poor stud had a lot to hold back! :laugh:)

My rating: 4/5 (Top quality lycra shorts would be 5/5 but my lycra days are over!)

I've not tried the shorts, but I do have a couple of pairs of the 3/4 lights from a few years ago which I use unpadded. Very nice, but I miss the security of zipped pockets for keys and the big rear pockets on the normal Humvees which are perfect for a mobile phone.
