New wheels on the commuter thing. it all went together far to easily, I’m waiting for a tire to explode or something.

Some final adjustments this morning and a slightly longer test ride and it’s come out really well. Rides nicely especially for a bike we only paid £15 for about five years ago that he’s used daily.

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Swapped a rear tyre on the Carrera Vengeance magnesium road bike as the tyre I had on was used and had a flat spot. A temporary 23mm tyre's gone on for now, together with a mudflap onto the mudguards.

Also, my Merida Cyclo-Cross commuter bike received a new chain and replacement cassette together with front and rear brake adjustment. All ready for commuting until Christmas.

Nicked form the 'My Ride today' thread:

After spending a while cleaning my bike, I reviewed my bibs and the Ass Saver did it job 👍

Lol, I could do with a Back Saver though 😅

Just as I was putting the bike away, I remembered the Triban that had been stored at my mates place had one.

Ignore the junk mail, it stops the drip wax falling on the floor.

I could do with putting a larger cassette back on my fully guarded commuter/winter bike and a new chain to accommodate it. I had had a 11sp 11-28 on it for ages, even though it is a 10sp bike. I just adjusted the upper limit screw. But another respected lbs (who unfortunately closed after 50 + years) convinced me whilst something else was getting fixed, that they'd have to change it to a 10sp cassette. The only cassette they had in stock though was an 11-23 and a bottom gear of 38x23 isn't ideal.

Cleaned, lubed, fettled, adjusted, inflated, paint touched up and (New SKS front Mudguard) installed today 😁

Not that I’ve ridden for 2 weeks now. Too much else I’m enjoying. But the plan is to add a few hundred miles to the yearly tally over the Christmas Hols when I have more time….

It’s 11 (?) years old I believe - seen so much action it’s unreal. But I’ve just kept ontop of maintenance and replaced parts as needed. Or earlier 🤣 I enjoy it if I’m honest…..

Er…..yea. As per my custom user Title: ‘Devotee of OCD’ I’m sure you can imagine how it was looked after. You a Ducati owner / user / lover ?

I was upto owning 13 bikes at one point. Then got as ‘low’ as 5. And am currently at a comfortable 7.

But tonight I’ve just painted most of the garage floor, in readiness for a little re-organisation and space-making - should number 8 happen to arrive / I fancy a Winter project…….🙄

And I think long-term I’m likely to set up a stand in the near left hand corner; and buy basket-cases / ‘refurb’ runners / do-up a bike or three here and there and give away to local (kids 🤷‍♂️) charities. I get my fix and do my bit, someone in need gets mobile. Win-Win !! 👌
