Oh and personally I'd have kept the GRX ring ,if I was changing I'd have gone for a Hope or Stridsland one ,obv all IMHO.

COOSPO feels great, turns on and locks into Satellites immediately, the touchscreen is fab, it’s IPX7 Waterproof, the battery life is well proven to be 30 hours plus, has every feature you’d ever need seemingly - and it’s generally really impressive.

Of all the reviews I saw - the only real negative was a few saying there was quite some glare / reflection from the display screen. Easily solved with some Matte Glass screen protectors…..👍

**I spent a fair amount of time trying to find a 4-bolt, 110 BCD, 40 Tooth single chainring in Silver or Polished. I’d have happily bought a Hope one if I knew the right product was available (*Having looked it’s not in Silver 👎).

The other make you talk of - I’ve never even come across before 🤣 So I certainly wasn’t likely to be getting one of those……

I've been enjoying my Temple Classic this summer, and thought I'd put mudguards on ready for autumn.

The first, and most serious, hitch, were the rear facing dropouts at the back. They really don't work with full 'guards. Then clearance was a problem. Temple say'guards can be fitted with 32mm tyres; maybe they can if you have the rear wheel in exactly the right place, but I couldn't get 30mm tyres to work.

After an hour I gave up, had a cup of tea and put back the other wheels with 35mm tyres. Looks like I'll not be riding this bike much for the rest of the year.

Some original colour left...

Couldn't find any stamp re manufacturing date...

...but there's a tiny fragment of the original decal left. Maybe 50s, 60s, 70s?

Happy with how it turned out; very high-quality English engineering brought back to full working status.

Almost fettled, but not quite. There’s always tomorrow.
Triple chainring, Shimano brake/shifter, gives two ‘clicks’ when the cable is not attached, but one when it is. Derailleur will move the chain to the large ring, but drops it down to the middle when pressure released on the leaver. It’s not the limiter screw. I’m beginning to think too much cable tension.
Any ideas?

i just scrapped a vice that the former houseowners left as it was left out and so rusted it would not even move and the handle was missing too , it was beast and i had to use the trolley to move it .

I’ve fettled with ‘The Fleet’ this week by deciding to amalgamate / seriously downsize. So I’ve sold ‘some’ bikes (Just 5 to go now…..) to clear space and help fund putting a deposit down on ‘a’ bike that’s out in January.

And that in conjunction with the supplying dealer: I’m instigating having some sort of fit to assure it’s the correct size initially: being such a major expense / purchase.

I shall then have a full on Bike-fit upon receipt. AND carry across the same measurements from that to my other remaining road-bike. But that’s a way off yet; as the two models I’m interested in are both 2027 models: and not available until January.

At that point (And for many sane reasons) I shall be whittling down to:

1 x decent quality roadbike for general use.
1 x ‘nicer’ bike for ‘Sunday rides’ (Below).
1 x ever present Carrera for commutes, wet weather etc

Just got to decide if I go full Aero 2027 Merida Reacto 6000:

Or a slightly less extreme: and what Merida call an ‘Endurance’ model Scultura 6000:

There’s nothing in price, specs are near identical too. It just depends on if I can handle the more extreme riding position of the Aero. And if that’s how I see it being used in anger. Or of course the more utilitarian Scultura which is still full Carbon F+F, wheels, Aero cockpit, DI2 blah blah

For an aero bike the Reacto isn't that extreme but if it's a bike for longer rides I'd probably plump for the Scultura , both nice bikes though and usually have good spec for the price.

A mate of mine bought a Merida Scultura top of the range job and he is really pleased with it.

All reviews of the 6000 Reacto are great. And most refer to the fact it’s the point in the range where things start to ‘get serious’ - and is infact perhaps the point at which price and performance are best balanced / you’d get the most value for money.

My local dealer is speaking to the local Merida rep today to see if anywhere within 100 miles has one (Outgoing model) in a large I can sit on / see in person……
