Changed cleats - been needing to do it for ages and kept forgetting - until about 10 minutes into a ride.
Started swapping out slicks on XC for something a little more knobbly. Tubeless - bit of a faff.
First wheel cleaned and dry seated.
Second wheel cleaned and now drying. Unfortunately, the tape peeled. There seems to be an oil that weeps out of the Rene Herse tyres. This oil got under the tape. Spent an age cleaning off the residual dried sealant. Anyway, hub now drying and ready for retaping tomorrow.

Swapped out the Chinese 25mm tyres on the Colnago for Vittiria Rubino 28mm. Took it for a quick run between rains and the difference was night and day.
Italian bike and tyres (in name). So obviously going to be better.

It came with 90’s wheels, and I had fun mentioning to an Italian fan that my Galaxy on Weinmann hubs rolled further than the Colnago on Campag hubs. Then I put on period Mavics (same tyres) and it didn’t
Have to see next year how it does with the new tyres.

Just sorted the dynamo wiring on the Fairlight Faran ,got the front light and Igaro charger cables routed through the fork leg ,still have a bundle of cables tie-wrapped near the light as I have to leave slack when I want to put the front rack on.
At some point I'll look in to fitting some connectors if possible.
Also popped a fresh tube in the front tyre as it had a slow puncture, no TUP tubes left so put normal butyl one in; did try it tubeless but the tyre wouldn't pop on (think it needs re-taping).

Finished setting up XC bike wheels.
Even after a good clean, including wipe with isopropyl alcohol, had trouble getting tape to bind. Gave it two wraps then fought with tyre for about 30 minutes. Left inflated with inner tube for the afternoon to bed tape. Removing tube and setting up tubeless was faff free.
Job done, productive evening.

Wrapped around a tube like ivy, or taped to one?
Are you able to use internal routing if available or is that a path into madness?

Anything that starts with ‘internal’ inevitably leads to madness. Penance of twice round the velodrome on the penny farthing for you! :-)

Used clear tape in the past to secure to inside of fork and along underside of top tube. The latter then being hidden by frame pump.
This has worked well on my commuter.
Routing the cable seems the most problematic. Given different mounting locations for front and rear lights. USB power cables, junction boxes, and remote switches are another complication.
Rear light on back of rack can be a challenge. On one occasion I routed cable over the top of mudguard, secured with clear tape. On another, through the rack tubing. Currently have dilemma of no mudguards and rear rack where I can’t route cable internally. The temporary solution of a rechargeable rear light is at risk of becoming permanent.
Maybe it’s just me - but it seems one of those problems where there are so many possible solutions and the only way to find the optimal solution is by trial and error.
