Being a rather old and sad person I have been supporting and a regular at West Ham since the mid 1960's.

I don't recall the team ever being as bad as it is right now. I keep looking at the players individualy and thinking what's wrong.

Then I read this morning that Zola has gone back to Italy for a break and given all the players 3 days off.

Or has he just given up?

Zola seems to be a man of integrity and honour (rare in the world of modern football) and must surely be feeling the pressure.

If the owners cannot support him 100% (which should be the case with ALL managers and owners) then he should be free to go: he has a job to do, i.e. manage a Premiership team. If there is a budget and the owners won't allow big spending, then they should admit to the fans that the finances aren't available, BUT don't blame the manger.

Also the over-paid players don't seem to have the heart or passion to play for their clubs and can just expect to be trransfered to another PL club should they be relegated.

Newcastle United, not surprisingly, will bounce straight back to the PL after a sobering year in the Championship.

West Ham will survive, possibly not this season, but sooner, rather than later.

I'm actually rather happy with the West Ham form at the moment. Till the end of the season may it continue. Please.

I bet you are. Mind you I went to the West Ham v Hull game and you guys did not look too clever either.

I've always had a soft spot for the Hammers but they, like many other clubs, have been living above their means and were stuffed by the Icelandic bank fiasco. I fear they're on the slippery slope with the two obnoxious porn kings as new owners and poor old Zola finding out that he's not up to the job. They should never have got rid of 'arry!

They shouldn't have got rid of Pardew - it's the old, old story

Like Portsmouth they got to, and deserved to win the FA cup in 2006 with a decent young manager and a young squad. Finished 9th in the Prem. as well.

That attracted the big Icelandic money and the "Argentine 2". Cue the breakup of a promising squad and the leaving of a decent manager.

Zola's a nice guy, but has no mangement experience and when the money runs out you need a decent manager like Pardew (look at what he did at Reading and is doing with no money and a 10 point deduction at Southampton) rather than a "glamorous" foreign coach.

The porn kings kind of suit our image - I have no problem with them at all. Rumour has it that H was 'caught with his fingers in the cookie jar'.

Given that the problem was with the previous owners I would bring back Curbishley. Can't see what he ever did wrong.

Ah is that the curse of Harry..
Bournemouth - administration
Southampton - administration
Portsmouth - administration
West Ham and Tottenham
Could he get the full flush ?

Yep. A good manager but I would not trust him with the petty cash tin never mind the transfer budget.

That's a bit unfair. Look what they achieved at Birmingham City. The key to any Premiership football club is getting the finances right and provided they - and in particular Karen Brady - are given time to put things right, they will do very well for the Hammers. That might mean dropping out of the division for a year.

Add Southampton to the list of teams that were Premier League solid but went up the swanny just as they spent a lot of money on the new stadium.
