Everybody's definition of aggressive is different,so i don't see what's going to be achieved by asking the question.

Thank you.

If the answer you've given above is the answer then asking the question has achieved at least this, that by the same logic one person's definition of aggressive could be another's definition of assertive (or bloody-minded) which would make any statement that any given behaviour were categorically one or the other, moot.

Interesting set of synonyms. And in the context of a cyclist's behaviour on the road? (My first question.)

Thanks

What do you think bloody-minded means? It's an English word, that has a definition. You can't just make up new meanings for words unless you are Humpty Dumpty. In English it means deliberately uncooperative. That does not equate to aggressive. What does it mean in your private lexicon?

(In the previous thread I was being assertive. This post I am being a little aggressive. I hope that helps clear things up.)

Except that the only definition that counts on a forum is the Mods.

Aggressive is as defined in any context. If you want to describe a particular set of actions by said cyclist then perhaps some here might pass judgement on said actions using an appropriate adjective of their choice.

EDIT:- however this is the Cafe!

The previous thread was a discussion about the death of a rider. CC has stricter rules on those threads than other places. No one wants to do a google search about the death of a dear friend and find themselves on a page where people are squabbling about whether all <insert driver type here> are peanuts, or just some, or none of them. Those discussions are ok everywhere else on CC.

And yes, I was the one that asked for moderator intervention. My posts needed to go along with the others, and I am happy that was done.

Agreed. I once got out of my car to ask a guy to move back a little so that I could park...he was occupying a couple of parking bays.

The exact words I used were "Hello, could you possibly move back a little so that I can park". He accused me of taking the p1ss and being aggressive.

I was in a particularly good mood that day and didn't approach him with anything other than a sincere and genuine good nature.

People (we) assume everyone is just like us and has the same intentions. Liars supect you of lying, cheaters suspect you of cheating....aggressors expect you are going to be aggressive.

Either that or he had just had a really bad morning.
