I feel sorry for those guys at roadworks with the stop/go boards....must be phenomenally dull.
They are extremely well paid here in Oz

My Dad was an armourer in WW2 - working on bombers
when the plane came back from a mission the first thing was to get all the living crew off
after that everyone stayed away from the plane until the armourers had been on and removed anything that might go bang
In other words any dead crew were still on board
apparently sometime the rear gunners pretty much had to be removed with a hosepipe
being first on to see and have to sort that out seemed a bad part of the job
I have to say that any job that involves wiping old people's arses does not appeal. The pay's not that bad, though.
