Hill Wimp

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
My family travelled the globe in the 80s followingF1 so here's another 80s heartthrob that adorned my wall. I cried buckets when he died.

Ma and Pa Bollo are proper Manc but Pa joined the RAF, which explains why I was the only City supporter in my north London school when we lost the FA Cup to Tottenham. Great. Just great. I went to both matches as well.

I used to tear out pictures of footballers and teams from the Charles Buchan Football Mionthly.Typhoo tea also did large pictues of teams and players. But what i did like, was the cardboard league tables which looked like ladders. That is a long long time ago.
A Tarkus one (I didn't even like Emerson Lake and Palmer) and some
l had to share my room with my big brother, so we had a massive Yes poster and a massive Genesis one (Selling England by the Pound). I had a Northern Soul one but he drew a willy on it!
Strangely, I never noticed the car was white.....

I had a couple of other posters but this is the one that sticks in my mind. Possibly because it was such a rebellious stand against my devoutly Christian parents. Used to love browsing the wares at Athena just on the corner of Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester whenever I got the chance to get the bus into town. The selection at our local Woolworths just wasn't a match for the Athena range. It makes me feel really old saying this

Or something very very similar. I think I also had a poster of the cover of Relayer too if I remember correctly.

In a similar vein I had the Escape poster but didn't realise it was album art as I'd never heard of Yes or Roger Dean - it just caught my eye in a shop display.
