I had this one, and a couple of others which I can't seem to find....

I used to share a bedroom with my three-year younger brother, who had loads of Formula 1 pictures around the walls (early-mid 70s) and I might have had a solitary team picture of Essex Cricket Club 1st X1.

Nowadays the walls in our flat are adorned with maps: the world, Europe, GB, Norway, India, Australia, plus a few yoga posters (not for my benefit, I hasten to add). Looking for good retro cycling posters to put up, but wall space is limited at the mo.

I'm another one who didn't have any posters on his walls.

My bedroom was the box room, so space was at a premium. Most of the wall space was covered with bookshelves.

#1 son knocks out Van Gogh lookey-likeys, signed 'Samuel', in his spare time. He did his first Sunflowers at age eight and we still have it hanging in the living room, to his chagrin.

Lucky boy, he gets his looks, brains and talent from his mother. But he will always be shorter than me.

I had a couple of Nirvana ones, a Snoop Dogg one, an Ice Cube one, a Stone Roses one, couple of basketball and football ones and a Jackson Pollok. When I was a bit younger I had an ancient map for Warwickshire hung up. Which is weird as I had never been there nor had any links to it.

Edit: How could I forget my Tyra Banks one (in a yellow bikini).

I had one of those Smirnoff posters too. I think I had to scrounge it from the local off sales shop. It was the "I thought the Kama Sutra was an Indian restaurant until I discovered Smirnoff" version.

Strangely, I never noticed the car was white.....

I had a couple of other posters but this is the one that sticks in my mind. Possibly because it was such a rebellious stand against my devoutly Christian parents. Used to love browsing the wares at Athena just on the corner of Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester whenever I got the chance to get the bus into town. The selection at our local Woolworths just wasn't a match for the Athena range. It makes me feel really old saying this

I had devoutly Christian parents. Mine would have, and did, object to such posters because they were exploitative rather than because they were smutty.
