Adjusting gears. For some bizarre reason I get it to the point where it seems to work perfectly under test conditions indoors, but as soon as I go out on the road it seems to be all out of sync again. It can take a day or two of tinkering with barrel adjusters to get things working smoothly again.

Hate gears!
Adjusting them, using them, all about gears makes me :cursing:
Love adjusting brakes, piece of cake :highfive:
Still have a few jobs never attempted in my so far brief cycling career, so ask again next year

Seems so far I am the only one who hates having to try to line up the front wheel with the frame perpendicular to the bars... never seem to get it spot on... hoping that they are roughly straight for the ride I am about to do ...

(PS please send out search & rescue if you don't see me online for a day or two...;))

(typical the heavans have just opened - go for a ride (aka cold shower) or give up and have a hot shower instead?)

Its scarily high on a good ladder
An old neighbour and friend Dennis (who's now passed on) watched me clearing my gutters one day...'i'll borrow your ladders when you've finished and do mine...our gutters connect, we'll both benefit' he said. I wash windows off ladders, decorate etc etc i'm quite happy on ladders...but climb that extra 4 ft and deal with the overhang, i wasnt comfortable at all.
I think Dennis thought the same as he watched me....he then said...'hmm, perhaps another day :surrender:'
This is why I invested in a 35' scaffold tower, a 20' scaffold tower, and a 10' scaffold tower.
I also have a stand off bracket and a clip on rung step to make ladder use easier.

I don't mind bike repair chores, I just don't do them very often.

The repairs I seem to have the most dislike for tend to be any that earn money for me.

should not have tempted fate saying something like that - knew I was feeling a little off colour today, got 1.95km from home and not feeling good so stopped where I was (quiet section of a bridlepath) and next thing I know I am lying in the mud... not quite the soft landing: forehead has an interesting bruise... seems I passed out for 2-3 mins according to my new garmin edge. just to sort of useful data I really don't need. anyhow back home now... shaky but OK.. no idea what's wrong, but one thing is for certain - that Dr's appointment I have in 1 hours time is not going to happen - can't get there given I have to cycle 6.5miles each way to see him! think a quiet afternoon is in order - may give my road bike that clean it needs!
