Wayward on Netflix. Decent cast (Toni Colette and Mae Martin). Think 9 Perfect Strangers but with kids and a bit more coersion.
High on concept, meh on execution.

I watched the first 3 episodes, I wanted to like it but it didn't gel for me. Some characters were too extreme, whilst others were just copy/paste from any other high school series. They have handled the "cult" thing with a sledgehammer; more subtlety needed to be believeable I think

Better Call Saul

Only the second time I've seen it, its much better the second time around. It serves as both a prequel and sequel to Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman's character in Breaking Bad. It does a great job of not only fleshing him out beyond 'scumbag lawyer' but also shows how his decisions in his life lead him to becoming Saul Goodman.

If I have a complaint then its that a story thats in play showing how Gus came to build his business, finishes a few episodes before the end. The next couple episodes switch instead to focussing on Jimmy/Saul again. I find it a bit of let down but I know that ultimately it finishes on a real banger so looking forward to that.

Black Rabbit (Netflix). 8 x 45 min episides starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Both play their characters very well. I didn't think I'd like it, as it looked a bit gangster/cartel for me, but we really enjoyed it. There wasn't a duff actor anywhere, the plot was engaging and ridiculous enough to be an entertaining watch rather than a true-to-life story. 9/10
Started to watch the first couple of episodes and decided it's not for me....don't usually mind Jude Law but Bateman nah...too cheesy for me.
There again there's something about a lot of the Netflix shows that doesn't do it for me,almost like they're dumbed down for us ! Or I'm just a awkward viewer 😁

I enjoyed it far more then Breaking Bad.
