Loved Shetland, Finished up Blue Lights over the weekend. Very well done and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Found Obituary on Netflix, a quirky kind of Irish dark comedy about a young obituary writer in a local rag. Not laugh out loud, but quite liking it so far.

I am confused after tonight's episode of Night Manager 🤔

I thought it was a brilliant and unexpected plot twist. I wont say anymore as some people will be watching it later on catch up. Great series.

Finished Down Cemetery Road last night. So well crafted, well cast, well written (by Mummy Pig, as it happens) that I can forgive them using Cornwall as a substitute for the Hebrides.

Thankfully series 2 is in the making.

Stranger Things S5 - left it until the finale aired, so we watched it over three days. Good start, but then dragged and last two were slow. final episode is 2 hours and without spoiling it it is a good hour too long at the end.

Really not so sure what all the fuss is about about Millie Bobby Brown, as her role/acting is quite minor in the later series, and the other co-stars need more publicity.

Enjoyable overall !

TV series take too long to make and get shown between series these days, the new normal seems to be 2 years between with fewer episodes than before. And given the negative reaction I've been seeing to stranger things finale it just makes me think I'm better waiting until something has finished and if its got positive reviews then watch it.

Unless you watch on the subscription services, where new "seasons" tend to be a year ish apart.

House of the Dragon and The Boys have both been 2 years between, and it's annoying as both already have stories they are based on so it's not like they need to write it from scratch!

Eagerly awaiting the next episodes of Traitors this week, but tonight watched Celebrity Mastermind.

Ritchie Anderson chose 'the Spice girls' as his specialist subject, but screwed up when asked Mel B's nickname.

It definitely isn't "Abrupt Spice"!!!
I must have misheard him, otherwise what was he thinking?

Abrupt Spice! WTF lol

I watched the "Girl Band Documentary" on BBC last year, it doesn't have SGs in it but it does have All Saints, Atomic Kitten, Misteeq, Sugerbabes and Eternal. It's very good and after watching the Boy Band one the girls definitely had it harder in terms of they were managed and followed by the press. Also never realised just how funny Melanie Blatt from All Saints is, lots of stories from her. On the flip of that Kerry Katona is as deranged as you might think!

I liked watching the relationship between Mel Blatt and her mother on Race Across the World a year or two ago.
Maybe Anita Rani and her father Bal were even better; it seems all of the familial pairings on the show have some deeply touching moments, whether it's the pleb or celeb version.

It's one of my fave shows, obviously.
