TV series take too long to make and get shown between series these days, the new normal seems to be 2 years between with fewer episodes than before. And given the negative reaction I've been seeing to stranger things finale it just makes me think I'm better waiting until something has finished and if its got positive reviews then watch it.

Unless you watch on the subscription services, where new "seasons" tend to be a year ish apart.

Eagerly awaiting the next episodes of Traitors this week, but tonight watched Celebrity Mastermind.

Ritchie Anderson chose 'the Spice girls' as his specialist subject, but screwed up when asked Mel B's nickname.

It definitely isn't "Abrupt Spice"!!!
I must have misheard him, otherwise what was he thinking?

Abrupt Spice! WTF lol

I watched the "Girl Band Documentary" on BBC last year, it doesn't have SGs in it but it does have All Saints, Atomic Kitten, Misteeq, Sugerbabes and Eternal. It's very good and after watching the Boy Band one the girls definitely had it harder in terms of they were managed and followed by the press. Also never realised just how funny Melanie Blatt from All Saints is, lots of stories from her.
I liked watching the relationship between Mel Blatt and her mother on Race Across the World a year or two ago.
Maybe Anita Rani and her father Bal were even better; it seems all of the familial pairings on the show have some deeply touching moments, whether it's the pleb or celeb version.

It's one of my fave shows, obviously.
On the flip of that Kerry Katona is as deranged as you might think!

Slow Horses, halfway through series 3, thoroughly enjoying it.
Haven't been to the Smoke for may a year, but able to recognise a lot of locations. Did work there for 6 month and 2 month stints.
Think I'll read one of the books at least, once I get to the end of the show.

I am aware of Patience but have not tried to watch it - enormous fan of all foreign drama, and most definitely Astrid.
I think it has real style and the characters have a real connection, and I think I'd struggle with the uk version for a number of reasons.

Recently started the latest series of Shetland, and really enoying it - as always, feels quite appropriate/traditional for this time of year.

New season of Astrid (series 5) starts next Friday on More 4.

Ignore the reactions... they can never predict what you as an individual might enjoy or despise.

George Chakris is one of the main cast, he was in West Side Story
John Meillon is one of the Aussie pilots, he was later Wally in Crocodile Dundee
Johnny (Coronation Street) Briggs too

Blooper; when one of the Mosquitos crashes during practice in Scotland, the Officers that saw it got into Land-Rover Series 1, how very wrong!

'You can't kill a squadron,' stirring stuff!

I'm only up to Episode 3 of The Night Manager, but absolutely loving it - huge moment at the end of the episode to!

Hoping the leading female actor remains in it for the entire series 🤞 AND is in the next one 🤞 🤞

I think I have just about gotten used to the Reverend from the fabulous This Country being a handler of sorts:

Also watched all 3 episodes of Netflixes Seven Dials, and thought it was excellent, and very entertaining.

Ah I mean Camila Morrone, though Hayley Squires is an excellent actor as well, although we don't see very much of her - perhaps that will change.
Surprised how very little we have seen of Olivia Colman so far as well in the first 3 episodes.

Camila strikes me as a mix of Dua Lipa and Liv Tyler, with a sprinkling of Ana de Armas as well.
I am genuinely impressed with her acting so far.

I am geuinely unhappy about this! Really wish they'd waited till after the UK variant had been broadcast.

I think it will be terrible watching them in parallel

#1stworldproblem

I've not watched Patience, and have no plans to - but with watch on demand, I'd personally just watch one series completely first, and then watch the other one afterwards.
Even if they are like for like storylines (Are they - presumably so?) the UK one can only be on series 2 I think, so won't directly correlate to Astrid on series 5.
