Did anyone notice in the last episode where they ended up at that house that must have been boarded up for years. Tom pulls a shirt out the wardrobe that appears crisply laundered and fits him perfectly!

There have been some shocking continuity-type issues along the way, but it's been a brilliant ride!

Here’s a recommendation for the Dan Lotuses of the forum: Pale Mountains, another great murder mystery series from Rai, which is relatively new to Walter Presents.
Set in the South Tyrol (Alto Adige) so lots of great, Italian scenery, it’s the traditional male/female partnership who solve mysteries, during their search for a killer known as “The Monster”.
The male lead will be familiar to those who have seen “Thou Shalt Not Kill.” The female lead is complex.

Now a word on Patience. I enjoy it, but the scripts are simple compared to Astrid. It’s as if the UK have gone down the US formulaic road, leaving Europe as the sole lead in complex storylines.

I enjoyed that too and was originally attracted by the prospect of some decent scenery. Quality yarn, but they seemed to go out of their way to not showcase the landscape.

Fair point. Though having extolled the virtues of Astrid in these columns, I'd have to say that tonight's episode was just plain silly. I hope it's just a once-off.

Shrinking is back, and I immediately remembered my reservations from season 2. It is light and 'heart warming' (though often too, and falling into schmaltz) I'll continue to watch because there are laughs to be had but (my main issue) is it has descended into pantomime or theatre farce - exit stage left.

It was good (if that's the word) to see Michael J Fox working. Whether it's a one episode guest appearance or he's going to be a season regular, we'll have to see.

Agreed Blazing, that is a wonderful series, I'm dearly hoping for a 2nd one.
Yes I recognised him immediately, right hand man to the phenomenal Miriam Leone, still gutted that series dies when it did :-(

The female lead in Pale Mountains was also a fairly main character in The Red Door series too - quite a well known actor I think.

We have yet to watch the last Night Manager, will probably save that for Friday viewing.

We did get around to watching Vigil Series 2, really good cast, and two well known lead actors - bit of dodgy CGI, around the whole drone thing, but aside from that, pretty gripping so far, 3 episodes in:

If you're into Italian gialli, Stranded (aka Black Out - Vite sospese) is worth a look. Series 1 (of 2) is on Walter Presents.

Mock The Week returned yesterday!

(It's on TLC, which seems to now be on Freeview12 - as of a few weeks ago - and is some part of the Quest TV Multiverse)

Haven't watched it yet, but the last couple of series on BBC2 were fantastic - the vibe/bants were unique, and they used a number of otherwise-neglected comedians. #marmite
