I thought This City of Ours was a bit meh.
Came over as a bit low budget, certainly compared to likes of Mobland which finished last night and was fantastic. Series 2 is rumoured to be happening.

I thought the same.

The problem with This City Is Ours is that we really don't see enough crime stuff, and beyond some vague threats of 'The Albanians' theres no other gang despite them admitting after they lose the first shipment they are at risk and vulnerable to takeover. Its more like a family drama wrapped in some crime than an out and out crime drama.

Mobland on the other hand is fantastic and does a really good job of immersing you in this world. Now jokes aside about Harry being some kind of John Wick super spy (esp after the hostage rescue) he doesn't seem to be fazed by anything or anyone, except Conrad. Pierce Brosnan may have a funny accent and seem to act like a bit of an idiot but when he was questioning Harry about "how do you know Kat" and at first Harry tried to dodge the question but was forced to answer it really bangs home that Conrad is an evil murderous bastard that despite showing him murdering someone in the first episode I keep forgetting. Looking forward to finishing this tonight.

Blakes7 had some decent scripts offtimes and some decent actors. With some proper investment in sets and effects it could have been something else. A 21st century feature film reboot, perchance? Michael Fassbender as Kerr Avon? Dave Bautista as Gan? Sadly I expect we'll never see it happen.

Well there was this in 2005

Watched two episodes of Dept Q on Netflix last night, seems pretty decent. A bit of a Slow Horses vibe, misfits in a different department solving crime. So far so good though.

We watched 2-1/2 episodes tonigh, enjoyed it very much.

Yes, yes and thrice yes to Department Q.
Kind of Slow Horses meets Scandi noir with a hint of Dougray Scott's Crime.

I like Slow Horses too, but currently without Apple TV

Silo Series 2 (Apple TV)
Currently half way through series 2. Brilliant (both series 1 and series 2). Not really Science Fiction as no real "science". More set in future lower tech but many aspects of social and society organisation.

I'm enjoying Death Valley on iPlayer. Timothy Spall is great in it. Mrs Legs keeps falling asleep.

I’m loving it. Great mix of comedy and serious with good plots. I think the two main characters work well together and her mum is funny too.

I finished Dept Q, very good and nicely set up for series 2.

Watched first episode of American ManHunt : Osama Bin Laden. Interesting stuff, as ever post event a couple decades later snippets emerge of how it all unfolded and thinking of the Bush govt etc.
