Binged on Once Upon A Time in Space. They interviewed that late Ron MacNair's brother who sadly died in the Challenger disaster.
He said the one influence on his brother going into science and later becoming an astronaut was....Star Trek. specifically, watching Nichelle Nicholls as Uhura. They played a news clip of the (then) only orbiter named Enterprise at its unveiling ceremony and you can hear a military band playing the ST theme as its rolled out of the hanger.

This moment is mentioned in Walter Koenig's book 'Chekhov's Enterprise'. The main Trek cast had been invited to the unveiling ceremony by NASA and Koenig said that the moment the band struck up the theme tune, he realised then the cultural impact of the old TV show he used to be in. The moment also appears in the exploration-montage which makes up Enterprise opening credits, when Scott Bakula's name appears on the credits.

Star Trek aside, its a fascinating documentary series.

Landman season 2 has started, and right up to the standard it left off with. This show is a hoot, well acted and with some of the best lines you're ever going to hear - and many of them from the excellent Billy Bob Thornton

We had a very random 3 months free with Apple pop up last week (no new purchases to drive that 🤷‍♂️)
Last night we binged 4 (of 6) episodes of Down Cemetery Road.
Slightly daft plot, yet pretty entertaining nonetheless. Will finish later today.

Looking for something to watch and saw in paper Mr Mercedes is on Netflix. A series based on trilogy of books by Stephen King and incredibly I'm reading one of them at the moment seeing as there's a supernatural element to it (!) Pure coincidence of course.
Anyway, stars Brendon Gleeson who is always excellent.

I thought that was something to do with the car manufacturer but it sounds much more interesting now ! Thanks.

We have watched the first couple of episodes. It's a bit slow, but has potential. Being a Stephen King fan, I will definately persevere.

Watched first two episodes of The Battle between Land Sea last night.

Basically a Dr Who spin off. I was hoping that as on at 20:30 it might have been a bit more adult but its same old Saturday teatime fare. (Yes I know yesterday was Sunday).

It was OK no more. Also stars Russell Tovey who is incredibly annoying.

QUite liked it

bit preachy and the concept is a bit shaky

and Russell Tovey is not the best choice IMO

but worth watching
