currently re-watching series one of The Devil's Hour... I'm sure it made more sense the first time round.

got through series two of The Devil's Hour hoping it would all be wrapped up in the end, but no... gotta wait for series three this autumn.

...oh... and the latest series of Grand Designs NZ, episode 1. Gosh... they went slightly over budget restoring a grade 1 listed 'castle'.

Love Grand Designs New Zealand, I haven't watched it for ages so I'll need to catch up.

I wonder if the brief for the presenter was "Watch Kevin and adopt his mannerisms. Oh, and could you try and avoid getting all the women inexplicably pregnant? That'd be great."

been watching Missed Call on C5. Reasonably engaging although quite a lot of "no that just wouldn't happen" moments and far too many dodgy characters have converged on a small french village to be believable (although not to Midsomer proportions) but they managed a good ending.

Not seen it yet, but have seen this mentioned - I recognise Lady Jane from Lovejoy, and the main actor I think he was in Luther.
Set in Capri, so beautiful scenery I am sure, and almost certainly a bit odd with everyone speaking English, but reviews seem to be good - seems like it was on Britbox originally, but coming to ITV end of April:

There appears to be a bridge on the top left of the photo, linking Capri to Sorrento, that I don't recall seeing when we visited

The Expanse - Tried to watch this years ago, didn't give it enough time and jacked it off. Stuck with it this time, it took me about 3 episodes to really get into it. As a bit of sci-fi I fan have to say this is by far the best sci-fi tv series I've watched by a long way, probably better than all the films I've watched too. Just started season 3 now, hopefully it doesn't get crap like a lot of series do.

Black Mirror. We started watching a few years ago and did actually like it, but for one reason or another we forgot about it. We started again last night from around series 3. It's quite weird that some episodes are 41min and some are 90mins - it reminds me of Stephen King's short stories a bit, where it's not written to a particular format or length, but the story just plays out. But the fact that each episode is an entirely different story is really refreshing.

There is a common theme running behind every one, verging on dystopian alternate realities but somehow feeling relatable to everyday life. Some of the themes that would once have seemed sci-fi are scarily accurate to how I think the world is going. As one example (slight spoiler) - one episode tells of a world where every human interaction can earn you a star rating, and deals with all the jelousy, cyber arguing etc that you'd expect that to bring. 9/10 so far

It doesn't (not in my opinion, anyway): I've watched the whole series a few times, and enjoyed it.

The Time Traveler's Wife (Netflix) series one... Very enjoyable and far more involved than the movie (which felt crammed into a 2 hr plot). I guess they were planing on 3 or 5 series but it got axed after the first series, so i can hardly recommend it. Shame.

I watched Get Carter again for the umpteenth time last night. Curiously, it had large lumps cut out of it, but still ran for the 1h50 that the interweb thingy is telling me it should do.
