'Ringworld' would make a great film. It's probably a bit long, but a lot of the stuff on the Puppeteer homeworld isn't vital.
'Chrysalids' by John Wyndham could be good, although doing the telepathy might be a bit tricky.
They did a reasonable job of it on Radio 4 a long time ago, so it's probably not impossible.
But the ones I'd definitely do would be Peter F Hamiltons 'Greg Mandel' trilogy.

Tv series Goodnight Sweetheart.I thought the 'special' was very clever.I think it had more to come. But no doubt some new controller thought otherwise.

Yes - the Goodnight Sweetheart special stood out head and shoulders above the other comedy showcases and had real potential as a series, so the BBC decided to make 2 series of the terrible reimagined Porridge instead...

A proper version of Dune.

A film version of George R. Stewarts Earth Abides.

A nice film series of Andy McNab books, starring Jason Statham.

Some Jack Reacher films starring someone who is actually 6'5" and 250lbs.

A modern version of Firefox but with a more realistic budget than the £8.34 of the original. CGI could make that an awesome plane theft fest.

A modern remake of Dirty Harry, to see if another actor could pull it off. Tom Hardy perhaps?

And a post watershed Countdown where Carol Vorderman has to remove an item of clothing each round. It'll have 2 hour long episodes with 58 rounds.

I can't recall if I've read that one but I remember the 80s TV adaptations of Blott on the Landscape and Porterhouse Blue with great fondness - I was the perfect age for them at the time, ie about 14.
Porterhouse was on one of the cable channels earlier this week

David Suchet played an excellent Blott, quite few years pre-Poirot!

The actress who played Lady Maud, would have been an excellent Sybil Ramkin (if she was that age today)

I would make something in the style of Howard Goodall's excellent music documentaries, on the history of music but with an emphasis on how the technical development of musical instruments then amplification influenced classical and then popular music.

Geraldine James. She's brilliant - although she does seem to always play that character, ie batty posh bird (she'd be perfect as Bertie Wooster's Aunt Dahlia).
