I can't recall if I've read that one but I remember the 80s TV adaptations of Blott on the Landscape and Porterhouse Blue with great fondness - I was the perfect age for them at the time, ie about 14.

Read it..i think its the best of all..tho konstable Ells in Riotous assembly was rather good but the Throwback is hilarious

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Strangers on a Train

In this classic remake, a group of people are on a commuter train from Clapham Junction to Waterloo. One is a Northerner and attempts to engage the others in conversation about the weather. The Southerners squirm, look at their shoes and put their headphones on

The end
Is this the special 24th August extremely reduced and slow service full-length version or the usual five-minute short?

#not looking forward to travelling tomorrow.

Julian May's pleiocene saga, or the associated Intervention/psychic revolution series.

Consider Phlebas by Iain Banks.

Good omens by Pratchet and Gaiman could be fun too.

That sounds like one of those late night Channel 4 two minute videos they used to put on.
