When is it?

[Edit: just googled...yay! hope the weather holds since the normal Bank Holiday would have been yesterday... in the sunshine.]

There's a street party in our neighbourhood which we might take a shot at. I'll also be raising a glass or two at a BBQ

Beer festival in nunhead followed by BBQ in crypal on the Monday. Out for a ride on Tuesday as the parents in law are down so mrs ceepeebee will get a break even with me not there. No cap doffing, no forelock tugging, no supplicating.

Street party, same as for last years wedding. I was sceptical when it was suggested but had a good time and it was a fantastic day for the kids. 12 houses (12 young kids) no "outsiders" allowed, all catering has been fairly delegated and everybody has chipped in the same amount of cash. Like last year we'll have plenty of bunting, a bouncy castle, football goals and space hoppers, with added "Olympic" games! Most of us get on well and as the alcohol flows it brings the quieter folk out of their shells and the 3 people who live on their own have a particularly good time.

It only takes a little effort from adults to give children something they'll always remember.

I've got the whole week off, so possibly keep it low key over the Bank holiday whilst everyone else is out and about, then do some fun stuff for the rest of the week.

Both myself and Mrs Ian have the week off. We are taking jnr up to town to watch the River pageant and to wave a few Union Jacks at the Queen and wander about taking in what will hopefully be a brilliant atmosphere. And hopefully in the sunshine.
